    But with the drive shaft out only the diff. turns as it would normally,the T/C would not be affected,i was just concerned about using a tow dolly with the front wheels locked on to it and just the rear wheels turning. The trip would be about 500 miles.

    No it is not the e fans and it has a stock stereo, it has done it for years and it is just annoying to see the flick at nite,thinking something could be wrong. It may do it in the daytime but cannot see the headlight flick. The volt meter doesn't change that i can see,all connections are clean...

    I have noticed a odd flick in my headlights at nite which happens for a fraction of a second,i don't notice in the day time on the instruments ,it charges good(14.5 ) it is like a load suddenly hits then gone? Any ideas.

    Heater Core Hose

    I had the same problem ,used the tools nothing worked finally got one end off but the pipes are so stiff i gave up on the others,i was up dating to the larger tee's for the rear heater.I don't know the secret but it is very tight to work on.Sorry not much help.

    Erratic ABS

    It has a faulty ABS sensor in the front wheel or there is a build up of rust under the wheel sensor.there are a lot of threads on this site pertaining to this problem.

    Yes the GM trucks in this series has the problem of ABS activation due to rust under the wheel speed sensor at the front, involves removing and cleaning.There are various threads on this problem on this site.

    After installing LED's in all of my outside lights my cruise control only works in the daytime and shuts off when my headlights come on.I installed the appropriate signal lite flasher and everything works fine ,just no nite time cruise,anyone have a work around or ideas?

    Check under the hush panel ,it's at the very bottom of the heater by the floor hump easy to get it out.

    Try checking the blend door servo. It is on the bottom of the heater under the hush panel,easy to see it ,2 screws hold it in.

    Clanking coming from rear lower control arm...

    I just replaced my left lower control arm as the bushing was loose in the arm ,I tried welding the bushing but it just ended up in flames,so i put in a new one ,about 15 minutes.

    this is a new problem for me now.....

    Possibly check the rear axle bearings and the carrier bearings,just had mine done ,took awhile to figure it out because it would only do it when on the ground moving not on a hoist.

    Got a square block that says CAL .....

    So far my 2000 has been doing this of and on for 8 yrs. ,no big deal just drive in a small circle for for a minute or so ,just needs to re calibrate .

    How long did youre tahoe go before needing tranny rebuild?

    @000 Tahoe LT trans went at around 260,000 KM. never off roaded spun tires or raced just decided to break pulling away from a stop sign.Trans shop said it was inevitable due to the poor heat treating on the splines .Got all new up graded parts and works great now.

    The CV axles are fine but the diff output bearings are growling and i was hoping that by removing the axles would buy some time till i got back and had the diff repaired.
