    Considering A 07-09 Avalanche Purchase

Thanks! I did some research and read a post that explained that the Escalade EXTs weren't selling very well in 2010 so GM decided to put some of the 6.2 and 14 bolt rearends into the Avalanches. To me it's a perfect combo as it has all nice powertrain from the Escalades but still able to keep it...

    Considering A 07-09 Avalanche Purchase

Well, almost exactly a year later I finally found my perfect Avalanche. I picked up a black 2010 LTZ 4WD. I got super lucky with this one as it has many more desirable options (at least to me they are). For starters, it's got the 6.2l 403hp L9H without the dreaded AFM crap and coupled with the...

    Considering A 07-09 Avalanche Purchase

I agree about the facebook thing. I held out getting a FB account for a long long time. Noticed a lot of the forums in general were not as active as they used to be and finally just last year signed up and got a FB account, and just got an Instagram account a couple weeks ago. I still prefer a...

    Considering A 07-09 Avalanche Purchase

So I'm considering upgrading my daily driver. Although I've owned my current 2000 Tahoe for over 9 years and it's been a tremendously reliable rig, it now has nearly 300,000 miles. Just recently it has started to have some smaller annoying things pop up and I'm reluctant to put any more...

    Project---------------Tahoe

Sorry I haven't been working on the Tahoe since I replaced the gears. Status Update: T56 is probably NOT going to happen. My job was relocated into a very populated area which in turn added about 25 minutes of stop/go commuting in heavy traffic. Really not wanting to deal with a manual...

    Rear setup

They're not "helper" bags at all. They're an actual air-spring that replace your current springs. Mike

    Rear setup

Contact Tony "Norcal SS" a sponsor on here. He can hook you up with some TBSS airbags that are practically bolt-in. They completely replace the rear springs and when setup correctly, you can adjust the ride to fit your needs from inside the cabin. Maybe he'll chime in. Mike

Welcome btw.... Yeah it seems like the early versions of the Duragrip help up great, even a few making some pretty good power. Lately I've seen a few people having issues with the spider gears. Just wondering if Yukon recently started outsourcing the spider gears overseas. ? I'll put this one...

So this happened..... spider gears from the Yukon Duragrip limited slip I installed a few months ago. Fucking Awesome! Read a bunch of good reviews about this unit. A couple lately have been doing this with the spiders. Product of outsourcing overseas? Mike

    2000 tahoe limited lowering kits?

OK, just making sure. OP, sounds like you need ask these kind of questions in the 1991-1999 section since you have the OBS (GMT400) body style.

    2000 tahoe limited lowering kits?

Tahoe limited? Isn't that a "pre" nbs body style?

any gain to going to this 90mm tbss intake stock 01 5.3?

I might be selling mine. If you're interested shoot me a pm. Came off a 2006 TBSS with less than 4k miles and has the fuel rail and injectors. I even have the TBSS engine cover.

    Gears?

I installed the USA gears this summer and I have no issues with them. The setup is more important than the brand. Over the years, I've installed cheap gears and the more expensive ones and it all comes down to proper setup.

Just a little update. Trans swap has not happened yet. I messed up my back so I've been waiting for that to heal up. In the mean time, that gave me a shit load of time to hunt around the stupid internet looking at interesting things and putting evil thoughts in my head.... So, I purchased...

    Gears?

FYI - That chart posted above is for 1:1 transmission final drives (no overdrive). That does not apply to any overdriven transmission, like the 4L60e, 4L80e etc.. I used the "Transmission Ratio RPM" calculator link below quite a bit when I picked a gear ratio for the T56 swap. You'll need to...

    Tahoe 6-Speed T56 Conversion

That link posted shows the same pedal/bracket I'm using for the NBS. If the NNBS firewall looks like this, then you all are in luck. Right where that red power cable goes into the firewall is where the hole gets cut for the master/pedal/bracket assy. Mike

    Tahoe 6-Speed T56 Conversion

For an NBS, yes, and It's a direct bolt-in for a NBS suv. Will it work on a NNBS suv, I doubt it since I don't think the two share the same firewall and to my knowledge GM hasn't offered a manual trans in any of the full size GMT900 (NNBS) platforms . Plus the whole pedal assembly and bracket is...

    Tahoe 6-Speed T56 Conversion

For the nnbs, the clutch pedal would be an obstacle for most people unless you have some fabrication skills. To my knowledge none of the nnbs rigs had a clutch pedal that'd bolt-in. The nbs trucks did, so the swap is pretty easy since the truck pedal assembly/hydraulics are a direct bolt-in...

    Unknown noise

Hard to diagnose these things without hearing it in person. Few things it could be: -A/C pump, mine is going out and it makes a very obnoxiously loud clicking noise when it tries to engage the drive clutch with the A/C or defrost. -Front drive belt tensioner pulley bearing -Water pump...

    Side Molding Removal

Heavy weight fishing line works well for cutting through the double sided tape on the backside of the molding. Also, 3M makes a cool tool for removing the residue sticky stuff without damaging the paint. It's like a wheel that attaches to a drill and it acts like an eraser. Really helped when...

    exhaust, intake, tune questions

Here's a few unfinished shots of mine when I was piecing it together from some used stuff off the Z28. This is all 4" piping and 4" K&N filter. Way overkill for a stock 5.3 but this ones getting a H/C 6.0 with 90mm TB and TBSS intake. I did notice the throttle response was better afterward...
