    Pavel's 2005 Escalade EXT build

Brake mod: 1. Akebono ceramic brake pads. Akebono claims those are OEM. It's too soon for me to talk about longevity, but they work great so far, I recommend these pads to everyone. There's a gotcha: the rear set comes WITHOUT hardware!!!! I double checked and it's not a seller's fault, they...

    Which is the most reliable year 01, 02, 03, 04, 05?

When I was looking for my truck, I specifically filtered only 05-06. The reasons for that are trivial: 1. In 2005 GM added Electric radiator fans, saving you a cup of gas per 100km and adding a couple of HP. Btw, some maintenance operations (like belt replacement, radiator cleaning) are easier...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I installed filters in PS system. Also, I flushed said system and replaced a PS fluid with Redline FULL Synthetic PS fluid. I fabricated filter brackets from junk yard parts. One of them is a fuel filter bracket from some Jap car, and the other one is a fuel filter bracket of Tahoe...

Cam bearing is a known issue on Gen IV. If the engine is out, DO replace the cam bearings with updated parts from GM. There's even a TSB on that...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I was too quick to celebrate. The driver side got me. The bolt broke flush with the head, and if that is not enough, that is the bolt closest to the firewall, so it's very difficult to get to it either with a drill bit or with a welding gun. A mechanic quoted me $150 to get it fixed, so I will...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Was relatively easy, I got lucky and there was enough of the bolt left to use Visegrips to remove it. On top of that, my truck's spent 12 of of its 13 years in Fresno, CA and hasn't seen much rain or water on the road really, so no rust whatsoever. The entire job took me 2 hours tops with a...

Oil Pressure PID for Torque Pro

I haven't got it working either, and I suspect this is because we all are using cheap Chinese clones for OBD2 reading. I am going to buy OBDLink MX and try the same trick and see if that helps. It's $75, but I'll call it a sacrifice in the interest of science.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Extracted a broken exhaust manifold bolt, installed ARP studs, a new manifold gasket, a new valve cover gasket and new coils (everything on a passenger side). Also found a cracked dipstick tube, which is probably a cause of my relatively high LTFT (9 during idle, 6 during highway cruising)...

    Best transmission oil cooler???

I also have a B&M deep trans pan installed, and I check trans fluid weekly. It does not happen quickly though. I need to drive up hill in a stop&go traffic for roughly 30 mins for the temperature to reach 200 degrees. It does not go higher though. If the traffic starts moving, the temperature...

    Best transmission oil cooler???

I installed www.trucool.com/products/tru-cool-max Model LPD4739. For U shaped hoses I used a power steering hose from early 4Runner. The temp dropped at least 20 degrees. This set up works perfect on a freeway or in the city WHEN AC IS ON. When AC is off, the main eFan is not running and...
