Today's episode of TemuforTahoe features a new liftgate handle switch as well as some goodies
Stay tuned for the next episode where I start messing around with parking sensors.
Actually haven't had the AC on for a while but it's worn for sure, constant whiny sound when toggled. Since stuff still spins around even when turned off that could actually be it. I suspected the AC clutch but I bet I gotta take the belt off and spin things by hand if i'm making a full day...
Thanks! Gonna try this as a winter project, I've started hearing a weird single loud knock or pop sound during cold starts from the passenger side (note, it only sounds one single time about one and a half minute after ignition). Thought it was coming from the right front wheel since i'm usually...
Sorry but I got a bit hung up on that third part you mentioned. HVAC Tees you mentioned in multiples so I assume it's best to swap both, there's a 113mm and a 111mm version and i'm confused if I should get one of each or two of a kind. Then connectors were seemingly sold in pairs and that's...
To be specific it's an item I'm not sure I'm allowed to link to but it's on
Anyways it claims it will program FOB's.
Basically yeah i have messed up by now and it's the actual FOB's that need a programming procedure, not the keys. Don't want to go back to these guys because they charge 75...
That's like omega ouch, especially when I know the transponders can be plucked out of the key itself and we have basic key cutting equipment (albeit for house keys) at work. could have saved like 150 bucks just asking around first. Oh well. It's done and it works (some handiwork was needed to...
My first order from the states arrived! Mostly ordered some pretty basic stuff like filters and a remote for the DVD thing, but I also grabbed a blank OEM GM key since it only had one and it was getting worn out. Well, thought I could clone it for cheap but since it's genuine it can't be done...
Ah I see! They are the lines into the heater core right? Other end of the hose goes into the water pump. Might just do a full on coolant swap while I'm at it
Just noticed this on the passenger side of the engine and scratching my head. edit; there's some white build-up on the pipe itself not caught by the image
Some people had warned me about gasoline engines and hauling but I was pulling roughly 4000lbs with a lot of wind resistance and the mileage wasn't bad at all. I was prepared for maybe 12mpg but in reality it was more like 16+.
I like the tow/haul mode! I made a previous mention about the...
We went to the movies yesterday, one of the slots are perfect for a small sized popcorn bucket though you will lose that armrest. So it does provide some snack-time potential. Other than that it's nice being able to put your phone and wallet away without having to fidget around in the void when...
Did you check the sunroof water drain channels? Not an expert but it's quite frequent those channels get clogged on cars in general, causing water buildup against the sunroof seals yada yada. Easy to see if you get a ladder, spray water on it and it won't drain away.
Took me all evening to open that box, that was some seriously sturdy packaging!
Anyways here it is, straight from china to cut out the middlemen
Carried most of the attachments and stuff inside for the night but it has all the bells and whistles like a hydraulic thumb etc.
Put her to the test today and she passed with flying colors. My first really big haul! Tow/haul mode is a very interesting feature, it feels like an entirely different gearbox! Nothing out of the ordinary except for a distinct low tone "brrrr" at 2k rpm ~50mph like it's a much lower rpm. Step on...
I think the way to go would be to apply UV-rated spraycan clear-coat, but since the result isn't perfect (there's still a bit of fog near the blinker edge and visible scratching on the bottom part) I'll have a re-do next year. the stuff in the second tube says it needs to be re-applied every 3...
Tried one of those cheap supermarket headlight restoration kits today (small pads of different grit sandpaper, small tubes of polish and "sealant" wax)
For a ten dollar fix it isn't too shabby. Especially good for removing yellowness and fog. For deeper scratches you need to apply more elbow...
Aye aye, I shall post an update with pictures when and if I receive the items. As a word of warning; would never type any credit card information into that site though (the amount of spam popups was alarming to say the least). Luckily they accept paypal. The sticker set was around 3 dollars if I...
Ordered the TEMU package. rear mid console knobs for 5 bucks a pair? Yes please. Also grabbed a pair of second row pilot seat armrest plugs, a funky looking set of stickers claiming to restore the front AC cluster buttons to original beauty (highly doubt it). As a grand finisher, a plastic...
First fill after buying was indeed E95 and got home without any issues whatsoever, however a workplace buddy got all frothy about it and i've done E98 since. A gallon is like 3.79 litres, the price difference would accumulate to roughly 20-60 cents a gallon after currency conversion (we get a...
Interesting how your petrol standards differ from Finland. I use only 98 E5, 95 "e10" is the other option but meant for economy cars. contains some more ethanol, max 10%. But there's literally only two options available anywhere. E85 flexfuel is stupidly rare over here so I haven't even bothered...
Quick recap. I have lifted the full frame into the air with jacks and stands and using a level. Nothing, all wheels are level axle-wise in the air while suspended so no shock is being locked up. Noticed some things like ball joints brobably needing replacing in the front but there's no sway or...
Here I was thinking oh hell yeah tell me what exact treat my 5.3 flexfuel will want to live a little longer.
Couple minutes in and I'm almost none the wiser. Fully synthetic seems to be the way to go?
Back to deciphering label code numbers I guess.
Currently looking at something called "comma...
Good info. Sadly I secured info that indeed 16 inch rims will scrape against the brake calipers (at least in the front, only tested one wheel swap). Seller was nice enough to let me test it out myself which was convenient since he was nearby and I already had the car jacked up checking for a...
Is your front leaning a bit on level ground though? I'm starting to suspect it's my front shocks that are toast and it's setting the whole thing off balance. Found a
with some good info even though it's not Z95 at the 2:30 mark there's some good pointers to look out for.
