Bad turn signal stalk???
Brake lights and rear blinkers share the same power source. Blinkers work up front but not in the rear and no brake lights, I would suspect the blinker switch and/or blinker wires inside the steering column.
Dip stick tube rattling against the firewall???? The 13mm nut which secures the tube is difficult to get to......maybe the shop tech's were too lazy to secure the tube.
Or...
Broken a/c belt tensioner???? I've replaced some broken ones over the years due to cracked spring housings.
Broken...

Starter module activates the starter solenoid......the solenoid is working properly because you are hearing the click sound coming from it.
The starter module sends 12v voltage electricity to the solenoid. That electricity creates a magnetic affect on the solenoid plunger which results in the...
Pull the serpentine belt off and make sure that all pulleys spin freely........could be that you have a locked up alternator, steering pump, a/c pulley, etc....this situation reminds me of the time that I bought an IROCz Camaro from my friend. Paid him $500 for it. He said the engine is seized...
You know your stuff!!!!
The temperature guage in the dash is not accurate in relation to "real time" engine coolant temperatures.
Whenever working on coolant systems, I always use a monitor to see exactly what the PCM is seeing. Volkswagens are the worse. Normal operating VW temperatures the...
Before you start the engine in the morning, get under the truck and hit the exhaust pipe on the drivers side.......hit it right upstream of the pipes first slip joint. You may be able to pin point the noise to the slip joint connection.
or.....
Start the engine and let it get up to normal...
Had to replace the transfer case on my bro-in-laws rig yesterday.
First noticed the odd noise 4 days ago. Then finally, the output shaft ended up half an inch back further than it's supposed to be. The rear bearing case snapped off the transfer case and the shaft was the only thing keeping it...
How old is the engine coolant temperature sensor? Have you cleaned out the throttle body? (The shop I work at) we repair this similar problem (LS series engines) once every few months sometimes by replacing engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensors or by cleaning throttle bodies (TB).
In our...
You'd probably have to have custom lower control arms made to allow them more travel before they hit the bump stop.......and also maybe (somehow) relocate the bump stop higher up than where its at currently or fabricate some kind of bump stop which could mount on extend shock hoops and weld the...
Sounds typical of overheated (burnt) fuel pump wires on the fuel pump module.
The "fuel pump" on these vehicles consist of many parts and (as a whole), they are referred to as a "fuel pump module".
Drop the tank......remove the entire fuel pump module......look at the wires which travel from...
Cable has to move to move through the detents. OP states that the dash stays in "Park" when the shift lever is moved. The cable has to move the shift range indicator so that the dash displays R, N O D 2 1........So I'm guessing the cable is not moving at all.
Just gonna have to get down there...
The evap monitor ALWAYS takes the longest time to set. In some cases, it takes so long that the state I live in (California), doesn't require the EVAP monitor to be "ready" for emissions testing purposes.
If you're wondering about whether or not the code is on it's way to coming back, you can...
Did this job a few weeks ago in a parking lot.....took me all of an hour and a half start to finish. This is a really basic/simple transmission swap to accomplish.
Some of the tools I use for these trans jobs are:
Lots of extension for the ratchet........like 3 1/2 feet extension.
15mm wrench...
Note: It is not recommended to gap Iridium nor Platinum tipped spark plugs without a proper gapping tool.
These type of plugs should be purchased pre-gapped or the proper gapping tool should be used. The proper gapping tool for spark plugs has a notch on it and the side electrode of the plug...
Possibly the difference has something to do with "crash test" rating.
I once had a Honda which needed a door replaced. I bought a door on ebay for $27. The price was Dirt Cheap. Shipped from Mexico. When it arrived I noticed it didn't have the side impact pipe welded inside it. This pipe runs...
A few days ago a friend of mine asked me to check out his truck to see why it was rattling. Said it is quiet until it warms up. Once up to temperature, the rattling starts and he thinks it is the catalytic converter.

I think the level of frustration getting the crank out through the bottom would be enough to drive me crazy. Plus, upon reinstallation, you will probably scratch the rod journals on the crank and dent the corners of the bearing shells.....scratch the cylinder bores . How are you gonna get an...
I replaced lifters in these engines quite a few times. First time, didn't know what I was doing, but my level of confidence was high and my tool arsenal was adequate. Now I can do this type of repair in a matter of hours (provided there's no broken exhaust bolts stuck in the heads).
One...
.......friend of mine has a 2006 Chevy truck. His had a weird whistle sound that he couldn't find for the longest time.
One day, I'm over at his house. We're doing some work on his truck. I'm flushing the coolant system with the engine running. I rev up the engine a few times. And he asks me...
Just place a socket extension thru one of the holes in the flywheel to prevent it from spinning. It's what I do. Works every time.
And YES, use the proper installation tool when installing the balancer.....don't beat it into place.
