I have black 07 LTZ with 127k miles, bought used back in 2010 with 65k miles. Long story short my Tahoe got vandalized bad. Someone put paint stripper on top of every body panel. Its bad and ugly. I cant even drive it without people turning heads and wandering what happened.
So insurance adjuster checked demage today and said its gonna take $10650 to repaint whole car with removing tons of trim pieces in proces and reinstalling them. But she said that she will send paperwork to the total claim deprtment since she think it may be total loss
So i did some research and looks like my LTZ my be worth somewhere around $19500
I still own about $6k so if insurance wanted to write it off it will be $19500-500 deductible -6000 that i own i can get about $13k
But since demage is around threshold they may end up repainting whole car
So i may have chance to ask either way, totaled or get fix
Here is what i have done to the Tahoe
New brakes pads and rotors all way around 2 months old
New Arnott rear air shocks
New Arnott air compressor
New Goodyear gator belts
New all Dayco pulleys and belt tensioners
I have 22" Liquidmetal wheels with 305 Nitto NT 420s tires
Winter 17" aluminum wheels with 265 Bridgestone DM V1 studless tires
Tinted windows
DDM Tuning Lows and fogs
Autolumination led DRL and turn signal
Aftermrket taillights dont remember brand
K&N drup in filter
Brand new tranny free from GM installed right after 100k miles
AFM still works without issues but i was about to send ECU to Brendan to have him turn it off
I was about to do NORCAL SS Lowering/Cornering Package with Spohn Adjustable UCAs/LCAs and some kinda power adder in the future since it sux driving 6k lbs steel vehicle and 320hp at crank not the tires
Engine oil changed every year since i only drive less than 4k miles in last a few years due to my job
Doesnt burns much oil maybe 1/2 at 5k at oil change
If i get money for total loss i could put $13k down on 2013-2014 LTZ or Denali (im not Cadillac guy) again but thats gonna be $35-50k depending on milage and have huge payment again in next 3-4 years
Or if they end up repainting whole car i could have nice looking 07 Tahoe with 127k miles
What do you guys think
Im sorry for my broken english, i was born and raised in Europe, moved to the states in 2001. I speak good but have hard time with english grammar lol
