My dealership believes 2023 orders will begin in the next 30 days.

im not criticizing this
my salesman is directly plugged into the management of the dealership he works for, he has meetings with the east coast Chevy reps. I’ve asked him about this and he and the reps have no idea about this

having zero knowledge of it - I could see the order bank opening up in late May with orders not being produced until August-ish timeframe...will be interesting to see how things look this summer if they do in fact shut down 2022 ordering in April. Dealer that has been the most helpful in our ordering process said they quit taking orders several weeks ago...said it would only make more people mad that their order wasnt being accepted

Looks like if you're going to order a 2023 model, you will have additional options for an extended length wheel base SUV:

These will start to get delivered in the second half of 2022.

I am told by my dealer contact that 2022’s will cease soon (probably May), and the auto manufacturers will close for a period of time (2 months) to get ready for the 2023 models. Supposedly, the 2022’s will be “re-ordered” for the 2023 models. Assuming the world stays on track with current constraints, except your order in the Fall or end of the year depending on your package. I have decided to take a Yukon XL Denali without the ultimate package or technology package and keep my 2022 order activated and let it transfer to a 2023 order with the hopes of a late 2022 or early 2023 delivery date. Also, a lot of the 2022’s are been delivered with “retro fit” options but the truth is if you get your vehicle soon, you more then likely will not get the chip(s) to retro fit your vehicle until late this year or early next year. Make a strategic decision the best you can, that’s all you can do.

And you know this how?

Because the person who started this very thread seemed to put in all the work to compile this info…and from other posts since then that same timeframe seems to be consistent

If your order isn’t accepted by GM by the end of April, it’ll automatically get moved to a 2023. They don’t start taking official new orders for 2023s until May. By then if you wait to order, you’ll be behind a ton of people already who’s 2022s got moved to a 2023.

If you want a 2023, you should order it now. Don’t wait. Worst case scenario your 2022 gets picked up and you can just cancel it. Best case scenario you’ll be one of the top orders at your dealer for a 2023

Such an ugly vehicle
I don't think it's that ugly but I think the Yukon Denali and Ford Expedition Limited Stealth are better looking.

Either way, the introduction of at least one or two "real" competitors to the segment - thereby doubling the options in the segment - will eventually have an impact on the class leader GM.
