Best oil for 100K + engines?

Valvoline Max Life 5w30 and an AC Delco Filter. And I change it every 4000 miles. Truck has 94k on it.

always use Mobile one synthetic with AC delco filter. I think I will start the auto rx engine treatment on my next oil change and see if it has the same effects on this engine as my last 5.7 vortech

I use a synthetic blend


That's what the chevy dealer recommended

But Meineke changes my oil for 25 bucks

how many of you still have cold start piston slap running synthetic oil? I'm running 5w30 Penzoil Platinum Ultra w/ napa premium filter and I have zero slap at over 200k. I got it real bad when I tried mobil 1 syn so I switched back to Penzoil and iit stopped.

never had piston slap at all.
But for the 100k mile engine I do recommended Lucas Oil Stabilizer.

Any problem running 10-30 mobil 1 high millage in these 5.3 motors before i pour it in? Or how about thier 0-40.

i dont like any high mileage oils, i stick to standard synthetic. and i wouldnt try 0 weight oil unless u live in some extreme cold climate
