I have a 2000 cadillac escalade and the blower motor has stopped working. I have replaced the blower resistors, the relay to the left of the resistor. (Hope that's the blower motor relay). And the blower motor. I have checked for 12 volts at the plug and for continuity to ground. And the blower still doesn't work.
I connected the old motor to a 12v Dewalt battery and it worked.

I'm still confused on how I can have 12v at the new motor and it still doesn't work.

Thanks for any help provided.

If you have 12v at the motor and the motor is good....then whats missing? .....Ground. Reference your meter to the blower motor ground it uses and then measure your hot side for 12v and see if 12v shows on the voltmeter. You could have a bad ground connection or broken wire on the ground wire in the wiring harness that feeds the motor.

When you measured 12v what was your ground reference?

I did check continuity from the negative wire to ground and got a beep. And when I checked power at the 2 wire plug I had 12 volts. If my ground wire was bad I wouldn't read any voltage

Not exactly sure what a ground reference is. I used a steel bar that runs under the dash

Did you check your factory plug to the motor using the ground and hot connection(orange and black wire) checking for 12v across the two. Its possible the ground terminal is burnt up and coated in carbon. The way you added your test ground in does not rule out the plug. Also check your meter at the battery to make sure it isnt hosed.

I tried the reset. Didn't work. Good idea though.

I cut out the plug going to the motor and have wired the motor directly to a working cigarette adapter adapted the motor doesn't work.

Just a thought, why not take your 12volt DeWalt battery, set it in the floor next to the motor and hook it direct to see if it works, worth trying, good luck.
