So I just returned from my mechanic after a routine oil change and he shows me I have a cracked drivers side motor mount!!!! WTF... I mean seriously GM? You would think they would install a strong enough motor mount for what people use these SUV's for. My mechanic ony works with GMC and Chevy's and he said he is noticing this often.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Oh and cause where it is located, not the cheapest of repairs either..:flamingdevil:

I have a 2007 z71 tahoe and a 2007 silverado work truck and both of them have broken driver side motor mounts it must be common with this year chevrolet trucks.

More broken motor mounts

The broken motor mounts seems to be common. My '08 Denali (87k miles)was diagnosed today as having one when I went for an oil change. This is my third GMC Yukon/Suburban and all had many more miles before every developing a problem. The dealer wants $500 to repair.

How far behind can the others be before they break? I have been thinking about getting a '15, but if this is what I can expect then I might have to reconsider.

any insight as to how long the others may last, replace all at once, etc.
thanks

125,000 miles and broken drivers side mount
Gm this is just sad
My68 camaro still has the recall ( cable tie down) for a bad motor mount
Looks like they could fix this in 48 years or so

They told me $500, too. I got a little agitated considering we just bought it a week prior, then all of a sudden it was covered under the 100k powertrain warranty. Might give that shot.

I know this is an old thread that just keeps getting added to but if you are thinking of installing an Anchor mount then think again. It is made in India or China and you will do it again soon. IMO
