I just picked up a 2005 Tahoe from my parents this weekend. The blower motor only worked on fan speed 5 prior but this morning it had stopped. I went ahead and replace the resistor as well as the harness going into and now it’s working speeds 1-4 but it’s shutting off for 5. I don’t necessarily need it but I would just like to know what the community would say

Thanks!

So this is a manual HVAC control, right? Not the digital where a degree value can be set.

There's one fuse for the HVAC in the underhood electrical center (fusebox) -- and another if you have rear heat -- and two more in the driver's side instrument panel fusebox (accessed by opening the driver's door and opening the fuse panel cover). Are those fuses good, and do they have voltage on the circuits?

Welcome to the forum from Oregon.

Being a 2005 Tahoe owner, I will say that the blower motor and resistor should be replaced in pairs with quality Genuine GM parts. Like @Fless said, do you have the digital controller or the blue/red panel on the front? I am getting ready to replace the red/blue panel controlled blower and resistor on a friends 2005 Tahoe.

Resistor #22807123
Blower #15-81646

By the way, the blower is a cinch to replace.

Thank you! I’ll check the fuses either tonight or tomorrow
