Help me with a decision

The wife drives an 04 Tahoe. Nothing fancy, 4.8, 2wd. Has 110,000 on it. Its our family cruiser.

I drive a 96 2 door Yukon. 5.7, 4x4, lifted with 33's, everything in pretty good shape, just had the transmission rebuilt. Fuel pump, brake booster, ball joints have all been replaced within the last 3 years. 170,000 on the odometer, however its not the original engine, so about 135,000 on the motor. Its my DD.

Both trucks are paid for, with clean titles.

Its time for the wife to get something newer. So which one would you trade in? The 04 seems more practical to keep, but I love my 2 door. Im just worried about daily driving a truck that has such high mileage.

Trade the wife's car. She is the one wanting a new car and hers would be worth more. As far as the miles on your keep up with the mantance yours will be going for years to come. Mine just hit 166,000 miles on mine and still going strong. Besides ours are considered non Eco friendly and will not get to much trade in.

Trade the 04 the 2dr is rarer so more valuable in the longrun

Nothing really except cosmetic stuff, mechanically its pretty sound. Just want something with less mileage for her and the kids, and something I can drive cross-country in. We have a long trip coming up in May

Just trade the 04 for it you will regret trading a 2dr in trust me...

Trade in whatever one would be more practical for you to part with. Logically, it makes more sense to trade in the vehicle with higher miles and older.

Also, depends on what kinda shape both vehicles are in. If one has been coasting you more and more to keep, it would not make sense to hold on to that one imo

I personally love 2 door Tahoe's/Yukon's. I just don't think they are "daily driver" vehicles any more. If I were to buy another one, it would be a weekend driver. Just throwing it out there.

Another thing. How much are they offering for it? Realitically dont expect to get a decent amount since it is a dealer trade in. Mods affect nothing when trading a car or truck in
