So we found a 07 yukon on the Internet 79000 mile 07 slt. I didn't go with didn't think I had to. She brought it home while I was out of town. When I got home to see it I figured out its a sle-2.*
So I brought it there with paperwork from gm decoding the vin and rpo package. They proceeded to argue with me that it was a slt not sle. So I left my phone number and walked out. He called me a half hour later confirmimg it is a sle-2.

So he wants me to come in and sit down tomorrow to discuss What we can do.
I have no idea what to ask him for. It has aftermarket dealer installed leather with cheesy heated seats. Should I tell him i want a slt or get upgrades to the sle we already have? They have a 2010 denali for 10000 more or I did find a 07 denali same miles for the same price at a different gmc dealer.

Have you considered trying to get some money back? Would that make it worth it or are you set on getting a SLT? That's a tough one man. I thinking they would let you "return" it. I would do that and go buy the Denali.

He offered to start over on the phone or give me cash to make up the differance. I think i may ask them to get the denali for me. I guess it's a very big deal that they mislead my wife. especially considering the bank also believes it;s a slt.

Haha it's a huge deal! I'm guessing this has played out more than once with these guys. Good for catching it. Lots of things have to "accidentally" go wrong for everyone with vested interest "buyer and lender" to think it's an slt. I'd contact the BBB for this.

If the are trying to be civil I would deal. Use this mishap to get a great deal. I bet nobody really knew or cared that it wasn't a true Slt. They just want commission. No need to play hardball if they are at very least willing to give you your money back.

Great job on finding out early on it wasn't a Slt.

Ok well they have us a 2009 denali for the original price we paid for thes 07 sle so I'm happy with the outcome.

Glad it worked out for you. Wouldn't change the fact I'd still report it. It's not playing hard ball by any means. Walking away from it gives them the chance to live another day and do it to another person. Would you send your grandmother to purchase a vehicle from them? You play stupid games and you win stupid prizes, and I'm guessing they played.

I'd report it and let the powers that be decide to investigate or not. Best case scenario for the dealer is they get audited and all the paperwork checks out (and they go back years for this). Worst case, they've been doing it awhile, and all those wronged get taken care of. If it's a franchise or new dealerships in the mix, they loose their franchises and are shutdown for good.

Using your mom/little sister/heck even yourself as it did happen to you! Say you come across hard times and have to get rid of that vehicle but now are realizing it isn't what you paid for. You aren't going to be able to unload a car that you are 15k upside down on. You loose the car to the bank, and still owe the bank the remainder. Your credit is now shot, and if the deal was legit to begin with, you could have just downsized and been ok. That's not the case though. Now you are without a car, in a no collateral debt, and it would appear that your life is in the *******. Your next option for a vehicle is probably very old, very overpriced, and if you have to finance... You might just find yourself in the 18% range.

I'm glad you were happy with the deal they made you. I just don't have compassion for someone or some organization that could care less about the position they could land my family in to squeeze out a few more bucks from me. They owed you the deal. Still wouldn't wash the taste out of my mouth.

Oh I haven't waned it completely out still. I am afraid they will do it to Simone else. They promised some work on the truck and I'd like to get that done before I report it
