I bought a hypertech from a member on here a few days ago, received it in the mail today, and it doesnt work. The tune is installed on someones vehicle so I have an empty programmer, cant do anything with it. Took it to 2 different shops and they both explained thats the case. Even lists the vin its currently installed on, what do i do?

Did you look at our members recommendation page and see if he was on there ?I would try to work things out with him... perhaps ask him for his cell phone number and talk it out that way, i feel you i just recently bought a phone from eBay and doesn't work I'm in the process of disputing my transaction with eBay buyers protection program hopefully i could get all my money back

Good Luck man

yep. Those handhelds 'swap' stock for performance settings. You can't use it for two vehicles. Most think they can install it on theirs, and sell it. But you'd be buying his stock tune in the device.

Sorry to hear that, why I don't even consider buying second hand programmers, you never know what's inside it.

$120, is $120, if they knew that, they scammed....you may need to post in feedback section if they don't resolve it. IMHO

PM the member and try to work it out. If you paid with Pay Pal you may be able to file a dispute.

If you can't work it out with the member, dispute the PayPal and we will happily ban them from this site. Give the guy a chance to make it right first.

TYF is not responsible in any way for something you buy from members. We are glad to help though.

x2 for what Boss said. Although personal transactions are personal and we can not enforce any part of the deal, we don't want shady members on the site that will scam other members. With that being said, we would ban anyone trying to scam other people.

However, it might have just been a mistake and maybe he/she is a good person and will resolve this situation at hand. In any case, keep us updated!

Been down this road before

I had a problem with a x-member who sold me something and never sent it.

Luckily I purchased through paypal and after repeated attempts to contact the scumbag, I received a full refund.

Boss then kindly blacklisted/banned the guy.

So first I would try ans resolve it with the member directly. I'm sure he meant well and hopefully will refund you your money.

If not then the admin here will do right by you.

Good luck
