Eans is at stock hybrid height in photo.

Hybrid aerokit makes it visually look hunkered down more so than base.

Black wheels blend in whereas chrome accentuates the gap from metal to shadows.

Okays ... I'll post one more pic with my lipped 24s (I know, chrome not black) at stock height and if you decide on 24s i will protest no m0ar. :)

I thought I had a lift.

I agree it does look jacked up!

Any pics of lipped 22s on a hybrid?

I actually haven't seen a hybrid with black 22s with a lip.

You can find a few regular tahoes like this one an imagine them with the aero package:

They look okay actually, but like I mentioned earlier they do look slightly smaller than flush spoke 22s cause of the shorter spokes.

But I'm not sure how much that helps since these are on a black truck and have polished elements on the spokes.

Thanks Robbie! I'm sure ill find a way to give you my business here soon like a new set of oem tpms.

Hmmmm I kinda like the lipped 22s. Looks meaty and with all black full straight spokes on the 212s may work out well coupled with the fact that the hybrid not only sits lower than base but the aerokit gives it added visual drama.

I'm telling all you flush wheel fans... A proper set of lipped wheels in motion looks incredible due to the extra visual depth afforded by the added dimension.
Just my personal thing coming from sports car land influenced by pro motorsport.

I think I've made a decision! Shock of the century.

I'd rethink the 22s. There's a member on here somewhere with a lowered Hybrid on 24s, it looks awesome. I guess it depends on how you like it to look. I can tell you that tires make a difference. Get a nice set of Pirelli P-Zero Scorpions and you won't regret it.

We had staggered 24s on our Suburban. 24x10.5 with 305/35/24 in back and 24x9.5 with 285/35/24 in front. No rubbing whatsoever, but then again they were custom built 3pc wheels, so we could get them in non-standard offsets to work how we wanted them to.

Good discussion by the veterans here - thank you.

Having put on ~250 miles so far, my ramblings:

-This truck is a dream to drive which I completely did not expect coming from the LTZ and even a 510hp range rover. if i still had the ltz, the 24s would be on there today and lowering parts ordered. coincidingly,I'm getting spoiled by its efficiency as I'm using it in its purest, lightest form. Removed third row seats as I don't need them. Everything else stock including those lightweight 18" wheels that are the best looking oem design on any gm fuil-size in my eyes.

-i'm even considering painting the stock wheels gloss black and adding the widest AT tires i can (305s?) combined w/ wheel adapters to have them sit flush like a proper fitting set of aftermarket wheels. i ran spidertrax with a toyota suv before, but not sure who makes what in american car land.

so at the end of the day, i'm just trying to field some thoughts on how to strike the best balance between efficiency and pleasing looks of my hybrid. trying to find out how much the stock 18s + Toyo AT tires weigh. trying to figure out how much 22" versant 212's with pirellis weigh.

bottom line, i'm *loving* the ride so far, but definitely have already accepted the fact that i want better looks so will have to sacrifice efficiency a bit. it's a ? of by how much.

bjeremi installed a/t tires (cooper zeon) on LTZ 20s on his hihoe:

Looked pretty good actually ... probably would look even better if those were powder coated black. ;)

Rear spacing depends on the offset of the rims. Oem rims are 30mm and you need about an inch to make them sit flush with the fender.

who sells quality wheel adapters for the chevy trucks?

would love to see from profile and 3/4 front angle since the front and sides are really what differentiates the hybrid aerokit from base. nevertheless nice find.

here are tire weights that i dug up. these are for toyo proxes ST2 with one of them noted as an AT tire which would go with my stock 18s. i have no idea how much the stock wheels or tires weigh.

295/45/18 34 lbs

285/60/18 53.8lbs (AT)

305/40/22 44.3lbs

295/30/24 38.7lbs

if i'm guessing right, 22s should weigh in the high 30s and 24s in mid 40s which essentially negates the weight advantage of the former since the wider 305s in 22s are heavier than the slightly narrower 24s by ~6lbs.

so ballparking it 24s or 22s would sit around the same low to mid 80s per corner. which means if i'm to go the stock 18s + AT tires route (don't want to go street tires like stock), then the stock wheels would need to weigh around 30lbs each or less to justify sticking to the smaller diameter (yes i know about the weight placement advantages of smaller wheels - closer to center).

so at end of day, the various non-stock options in terms of efficiency impact may be immaterial which makes me want to then seriously consider 24s. :D

ps pls check my math not my strong suit
