Man, I'm scared to take my running boards off.

I've seen a video on tipping/forming metal using a wood buck that really opened my eyes on repairing some of this body work. It's a lot easier than it seems to. I think the hardest part is making the buck with the correct angles for each body part. His channel is "Make It Kustom", really cool sh*t if you're into that kinda stuff.

I have had more than my share of that and trying to fix them, do not miss that at all.
Its kinda fun,Im able to just close the garage door when I want or get tired off it.Would be better if these pieces weren't so complicated.Winter is knocking at the door also so kinda pressed for time.

Yeah I’ve been using whatever I have around to bang the metal into shape. Wood is easy to shape. This new piece though is a bit tough. May have to split it in two shape then weld back together not sure. I’m just looking to have some solid metal that I can bondo over.

This was from the other side. I’ll need it again around this wheel well. C40F661E-4113-462F-A5B8-A3D7C033A6F9.jpeg

I may get some 20g as its easier to shape then the 18.Welding the 18 works well though cause if you blow through the original you can build up on the 18 to fill.

I'd definitely stick with the thicker material.
Worst come to worst, you can cut and weld each piece instead of forming.

How are your rockers looking?

Rockers are fine,a little surface rust around where the vertical bolts go.Was fully expecting holes but nope.

So after an hour weight at the paint store I’ve got the 3rd attempt at a closer match. The last one looked real good with the led light on it but not so much in natural light, had some blue in it. So did a test piece this time with black primer and looks good but that’s what I said the last two times. Fingers crossed. Front fender taped off and primer applied. Hopefully have time today to get paint on this part. E7ADA42A-F959-486B-9DEF-8ECC37BD1DF4.jpeg

Kinda got it close.91467D76-1310-41A8-8550-5BF87872FC78.jpeg3DD32C55-2BF2-4E3E-B8BC-C48C3F432C2B.jpeg265D6B1F-A4FF-488E-B45F-9EF0E2B08DE4.jpeg
