Man HIDs get REAL hot!!! I put black film tint over my headlights a year ago. Needless to say, 6 months later, it actually started to melt my headlight lens at point of projection of light!!!

Pic shows where light generated heat under tint film and actually started to melt it!!

As far as washer mod goes. I mean, it's just a "stupid" mod to crispen up light at further distance, if that's what you like. Keep it stock, will work the same. I like my cutoff line crisper and sharper at a further distance(then how it was stock). Just a personal preferance really, and personally, really, it isn't noticeable to most people anyways.

Yeah, thought so myself, but if you have ever touched the projector, its hot as heck...

Nope, no ccfls. WHen i got these, they didnt have ccfl options yet. But im thinking of retroing 4 projectors and some LED Halos. Seems that led halos are brighter and better. (at least from my searching) Seen ccfl in person, but still not very bright. I want the new bmw bright.

Noooo Wayy man ccfls are SO. Much brighter....leds. lack in lighting because there's light at both ends and that's it..ccfl lights up throughout the halo....less are half of what ccfls are...

I just did mine, thanks to this thread. haha... I would have painted them green but there wasn't any high temp paint close to my color and even so it wouldn't really stand out. So needless to say I got bold and went with bright red.

THey had bright green at my local advanced auto. Green/blue/red/orange engine enamel paint.

What did you use for your bright red? Looks better than mine.

Meant to say the UHP LEDS, i have leds now. They suck, cant see them at all unless its nite time. Ive been searching and saw a pic of two bmw's one ccfl one uhp leds, uhp's were much much brighter. Ive been searching and alot seem to say the uhp leds are alot brighter. I'll see if i saved the pic.

The only green they had was like a lime green color and I didn't like that at all. That might be the same color you saw.... The red I used was Rust-Oleum's "Chrysler Red" engine enamel (part#248956).

I'll get some better pictures up when I get my front end back on. I'm getting my grille shell and SS bumper painted. I also tinted the sides of my headlights and bumper lights while I have it all off (along with painting the cutoff shield).

That is true but I believe he's referring to these-

Exactly what im talking about. What did you search for to find the kit? I searched and only came up w/ the whole headlight for bmw's.

That probly was the one i saw. I didnt pay much attention, just knew i saw a bright green. I'll have to see which one i got of red. Looks more maroon than red in the light.

Definitely take some pics when you get it together. Sounds very unique. Ive seen a few silverados painted the sides, looked good.

Ive been looking at thier site and actually emailed them, thats why i asked chancey(sp) for the size of the halos. Said they needed the size and wouldnt be a problem to make. But the high looks bigger. idk. That challenger in the youtube w/ the blue's looks sick. Might do blue ones..

thanks
