People driving with no insurance should be sent to the front line with no ammo...... When I lived in Dallas I let a friend borrow my at the time new Mazda CX5. He got rear-ended while stopped in a turn lane by a lady with tires balder than Steve Harvey. Dallas has vehicle inspections that require a tire check but that obviously didn't matter. The cop showed up about the time I did and when she asked for the lady's insurance the lady produced a long-expired insurance card but swore her husband just forgot to print the new one. The cop bought her BS and let her go with no ticket despite the fact she was driving recklessly in the rain with bald tires and hit a stationary car!!!! I called the insurance company that she claimed to have and they told me she only had insurance for 1 month and then it was canceled due to no payment. I ended up being stuck with a $7k repair bill and a new car with a massive accident on its history which ***** its resale value.
I was able to file a police report jump through some hoops and get her license suspended but I doubt that will stop her from driving and screwing someone else over.
