I think Im just going to cap off the other side...I wasnt sure the coupling going from my intake cone to the tube would fit...so I only got one...and I dont feel like driving out there again and getting another one...nor do I feel like buying a new cone filter yet...I've spent way too much money since the "bad news" situation..

the first time it rains hard you'll be sucking water into your intake....might want to think this back up and over to the stock filter location.

With the standard CAI, I took the bottom plate out exposing the wheel-well...I would splash through DEEP water causing the intake to suck the water through the tube in a horizontal direction. Although the filter is much lower, the water will have to travel up a long vertical path..I'll definitely get less water into my throttle body compared to before...only issue is, If I feel like driving through water higher then 1 1/2 feet deep, the intake will suffocate...which is why I could easily take the cone filter off and hook it up where the 90 degree is :)

in concept this is a good idea, but in reality wany water you get will suck right in to the engine. The engine sucks aTON OF AIR. More than you think. I would not be surprised to have it pull lots of water in with it.

I took the water issue into account...oh well though, I dont care too much...if it becomes an issue...I can build a shield below the filter to block the puddles so that the intake is pulling air from the lower grill area

you will know its an issue when its to late and water has seized your engine. you may cetch it soon enough and if you do the only tip I can offer you is when it stalls (yes WHEN) dont go right and restart it, that will just suck it further. Let it drain and you can save your engine. Again, really neat concept and I bet you get lots of power with all that fresh air. But It would scare the shit out of me thinking about it. Even the car wash would scare me. But I also do drive my truck in muddy water on a semi daily basis.
