i mean worst case it breaks the bolt off at the lower shock mount, the rest of the bolt would have to come out of the mount (with vehicle weight on it), shock falls out, tire rides the fender :anitoof:

and then i try it with grade 9 hardware.

I'll take a stab in the dark and say I think it will be enough as the unsprung weight really isn't that much.

On another note, my RCSB needs straps bad! It has so much down travel with the coilovers and tubular UCAs if I jack it up from the frame the CVs pop out inside the boot.

i knew i could count on you to give me the go ahead :drunk:

i do like that, even moreso with carrying the lower shock bolt thru all of it to box it in.
if it ends up that, that is what its going to take to mount the straps in this location then i'll get it there. its not as easy as whipping up a quick mount, the lca goes from about 3/4" thick where the coilover mount is to prob 1-1/4" thick under where the strap tab ends up, wouldnt want to butt weld anything on the outer side of the mounting hardware, and trying to form 3/16" steel plate with less than 2" tabs, tight radius bends .

but i dont think its needed, they are going to be put on at the track, be on for a total of about 2 miles of straight flat road, and take them back off before i go home. and check em between every pass
