Well, since I got no response, I bought one anyways. Gonna see if the mechanic can throw it on this week. Will it help my shifts noticeably? What real difference will it make for me?

You will feel a difference in shifting gears it will shift a firmer....my truck will churp the 20's when it hits second gear....and when it shifts to third I get another push out of the servo.....I have the vette servo with stock tranny....

Let us know how it goes and what your mechanic charges you to install. I'd like to do it as well. I read a few threads on how to install it yourself but I don't have the tools or knowledge to do it. It's supposed to be rather easy if you have the right tools. I think one issue people ran into was trying to put a gasket or some other rubber piece and almost everyone said that was the hardest part. I saw a pic of pic install and I figured I'd rather just pay someone to do it. I did my own intake but I think this is a little more than I'm willing to give a try.

I wouldnt do a shift kit.....servo took my local mecanic like 20 minutes to install...for a shift kit I'm pretty shure you have to take down your tranny and for a servo you don't need to remove your tranny....

itll be easier if you just read my signature for what i have in mine, i have a 4l60e , while you have the 6l60e if im not mistaken, but i paid 1700 for a rebuild that this guy does, that was including core return as well and it bangs through gears now flawlessly, and the downshift speeds have increased quite a bit aswell . well worth the money in my case.

I looked in my book and checked my vin and I have the 4L60E. I don't know if that matters or not, but I think I am gonna just stick w/ the servo for now and if I want to add that in later, I can. Thanks tho bud!
