The police pursuit trucks are rated to go well over 100 from the factory. Same truck, but with the rubber stamp approval from GM.

the suv tires they put on these are rated at 118 mph wich means theyve been tested at that sustained speed for 10 min and thats with a perfect brand new set with good alignment everything
so dont expect those same tires to hold up to that test after theyve been driven on for a year etc

theres a bit of difference in the ppv its goverened at 149mph and it has z rated tires wich are 140+ plus also has larger rotors larger alternator a second battery for the communications eqiupment thats required to stayon while the vehicle is off
lower suspension
a ssv is basically the same as a ppv except its 4x4 and governed to only 120mph

The PPV Rotors are 14" Diameter, the same as a stock NNBS Tahoe and the Calipers are where the main difference is, they use a higher heat Silicone seal where the stock is rubber. I know this as I did the conversion on a 2006 to the NNBS PPV Calipers & Rotors.

On my 2009 Tahoe LTZ with the 6.2L L9H engine, I run Baer EradiSpeed 15" Rotors and Baer Pads on GM PPV Calipers along with Goodyear Eagle V rated (149 MPH) tires as this truck will easily run over 135 and with 85 MPH speed limits on many of our highways, I tend to cruise at high speeds when possible. I have also upgraded the suspension with Hotchkis parts and maintain this vehicle to an extreme standard as I only use it as a "Grand Touring SUV" when on trips of just hooting around on weekends..and NO TOWING!! Not a daily driver..got a stock 14 Tahoe that does that..

FYI: A “Z” rating can mean different things. While it nearly always means a high performance tire for high-performing sports cars, “Z” may actually appear in the middle of a tire's size information. When it does, it represents either a maximum speed of more than 149 mph (240 kph) or 186 mph (300 kph).

If you have tuned or disabled the speed limiter, take a look at the Raybestos R-300 Performance Rotors and the Element 3 Pads which combine the best of Semi-Metallic and Ceramic.

For you LEO's, you might want to take a look at this site:

Good luck,

what are the driveshaft issues that have been hinted at online?
is it for both hoe & burb , or only for burb?

other than a driveshaft safety loop, what else to do preventative wise?

eta:
online its mentioned that the DS break at/above triple digit speed.
some broke apart while on a dyno. were these just mon/fri parts? ;)

is it best to get aftermarket DS w/ upgraded yokes? recommendations?
