You know, if I was starting this project from scratch, I think my first choice would be to investigate mounting a receiver. It might be more versatile.

I would like to be prepared for winter ditch rescues with my Yukon XL SLT 4WD by creating a pull point on the front like my Silverado has.

Has anyone here put tow hooks on the front of their Yukon? Do they mount to the frame the same as a pickup?

Has anyone added a front receiver hitch?

How were your bumper covers modified to accommodate either one?

TIA
I installed a front hitch on my 2015 LTZ Not EZ because the Curt and drawtight hitches SIT Too LOW. I had to cut the extension off and bolt the square tube directly to the Frame and had to put wedges from the cut off to get perfect angle to come out in lower bumper cover . I put my boat in garage with it.. and between boat moving have a block off plat with “ Security light”

I put front hitch on my LTZ to move boat into garage ‘ had to modify front hitch kit to raise it … to come out in the Front bumper filler strip !

Hello I have a 2023 Tahoe High Country and I put a front hitch on my Tahoe. I’m am very good launching my boat etc but some of these campgrounds you pull in at night and have to maneuver your boat into very tight places. I saw a guy with a hitch on his Suburban and it was amazing how tight you can make corners. Anyway took it to OFF ROAD WHAREHOUSE and they did the install.
Btw love this forum, have picked up a lot of great ideas!

Nice! Have you used yours?

Do you have any details as to what they used? Did they adapt something or create something or is there something that can be purchased now? Just curious.

Agree it gives *tight/precise* control + driver visibility when pushing around a left corner (my use case). Not as flexible as one would think when backing up because as you turn sharp to direct the tongue over it also points the rear over sharply.

I had to get an extender and a riser as mine (on 2021 Yukon) is like yours - bottom of mine is 8" off the ground and recessed a bit under the bumper. My trailer toque weight dragged mine down another 1".
