Well, what ARE you doing? Full rebuild? New bearings, rings and hone?
I was trying to avoid the machine shop and just toss all new bearings and seals in. I bought rings and the tool to gap them.
I also bought a digital caliper and some plastigauge. I'm kinda worried about the cam bearings fitting tight now that one was spun.
Ps. I'm gonna have to Google scope creep

I tried to pull the cam out while the lifters we're still in there, with the engine upside down, and it was binding up. After I puller the lifters out with pliers and probably destroyed a few, the cam was still not wanting to come out. Found the problem afterwards.
Extra wide cam bearing... Lol
I bet that motor had a tick. That's what happened to my 1st motor too.

It had 3 broken exhaust bolts so maybe they couldn't hear it over that, lol.
I just found some slag under the thrust bearing too.
Gonna take the block to the machine shop? At least for a hone and clean up?20200702_100248.jpg20200702_100240.jpg20200702_124329.jpg
My motor with the spun cam bearing. There wasn't a lot of mileage on this cam, less then 20k. It was a BTR stage 3 truck cam.

I thought about making my own hot tank, I might call a machine shop, but the only ones I know of are kinda shady so I need to do some research.
I was gonna ask what cam you were running. I am leaning towards the btr torq cam, but I really want that Truck Norris, lol
