Thursday on way home from work, both front and rear ac blower motors stopped at same time and I smelled burning. Found a burnt and broke wires at the front blower resister.
56D02658-F647-4E31-903A-DA40FBF240FF.jpegPO didn’t splice very well when resister was replaced previously. Went ahead and replaced resistper and Re-spliced and front blower worked, but not rear. Replaced rear resister, now all good.
Cleaned Throttle Body and MAF sensor. Didn’t look like throttle body had ever been cleaned. Surprised I didn’t have performance issues with all the carbon I cleaned out.

Long time no talk guys, it’s been a few years. My 2001 Tahoe has been sitting in my dads warehouse for a few years. My dad would take it once a month to get lunch but besides that it has sat for a couple of years.

Anyways I went and picked up the Tahoe, and did the following. Been driving it around for the first time in a couple of years, I forgot how awesome and comfy the GMT800 trucks are.

- Oil change
- Re-installed my catch can after getting it smogged
- Redline Fuel System Cleaner
- Full detail (waxed exterior, cleaned leather seats, vacuumed and used a Bissel Little Green thing to clean the carpets
- Ordered a few parts for the Tahoe (steering wheel cover, programmed new key fobs, 6 inch shorty antenna, installed a new transmission access door on the bell housing, new bump stops in all four corners)

Here are a few pics, not bad for a 2001 model that was one of the first couple hundred produced in 2000. Mine was of of the early 2001 Tahoes given to Chevy GM’s to drive around. It was sold to my moms best friend with 800 miles on it and then to me in 2009 with 121,000 miles on it. The Tahoe currently has 210,000 miles.

Got stopped last night, and was told I had a brake light out..

So I put some new bulbs in the back.. Thinking about going with the LED variants later.. But for now, gotta watch my budget.
I wish they would pull the dam people over around here that drive around with NO LIGHTS at all!, once they are in a blind spot they are risking there life and mine, I swear 2-3 a week.

I was thinking he might've replaced that inspection window/door on the lower bell housing. Mine is missing.
Yes, correct. Years ago I had a major service done on my Tahoe by having the rear main seal and oil pan gasket replaced. When I got the truck back that little piece of metal was missing. It always bothered me and I saw the GM part was on Amazon for $8 so I picked one up.

I’m almost afraid to jinx myself but I think I fixed my trans without touching a wrench. Many of you might know it’s been going into limp mode for the last 6 weeks or more and throwing DTC P0785 for the 3-2 downshift solenoid. I have been trying everything I could think of including replacing that solenoid and a bunch of other stuff. I have the internal wiring harness and all the internal electronics ready to install. My trans builder told me they’d like to see what happens if I disable that code- and told me their builds don’t even use that solenoid. I think they told me it might be setting the code because of my high stall. I bought HP Tuners and figured out how to set that code to not report (thanks @randeez and @Dantheman1540 ) and flashed that tune, and I just finished a long drive- it’s still shifting fine. I will have to do more testing but it looks like that code was causing the PCM to put the trans in limp mode. Wish me luck tomorrow.
