What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I put a new compressor and accumulator and orifice tube in this weekend.
I also redid the compressor connector and the refrigerant pressure sensor connector too.
Purged with nitrogen, vacuumed and weighed the charge back in. Nice and cold. The diode had failed and it was sending a volt spike through the system when it world disengage the compressor clutch. I'm gonna clean the evaporator coil tomorrow with that cool automotive foaming coil cleaner that you feed the little tube up the drain tube and spray.
Dropping it off to get the CV axles and wheel bearings put on tomorrow morning. Gonna clean the coil when I get home.

I need to do something similar. My AC isn’t blowing very cold so I had a shop recharge it but he said it looks like my compressor isn’t working because the pressure doesn’t go up and down when it cycles on and off. I know nothing about AC. Does this sound right? Afaik it’s original at 170k. A couple months ago it threw the belt a couple times. Is there a way to check the compressor? Also, what else do you guys recommend replacing while the system is apart? Accumulator and orifice tube? How about the condenser? I see RA has a bundle with the condenser.

I upgraded my RSE system, and installed a CarPlay receiver and Roku stick while I was at it. The vehicle had a previously installed RSE system (00s era) that was beyond dated and obsolete. I picked up a couple of headrest receivers and a new flip down screen as well as all the necessary wiring to power and link them. I got the BOSS CarPlay receiver from Crutchfield along with the harness to maintain the Bose amp and SWC and used their ready harness service (definitely recommend those). It looks like the previous system was installed professionally, so that saved me a ton of headache with the wiring, so it was basically plug-n-play (or butt-connect-n-play rather). Works great and keeps the kiddos (mostly) at ease on road trips.

I'd be happy to create a thread on how I ran everything if anyone's interested, I couldn't find anything covering this in detail in the forums.

Now to diagnose and fix this newly acquired death wobble

ETA: man, these have gone way up (like everything else..!) I paid about $75 for mine. Of course, you’ll have to swap the rubber boot with the correct one for GMT800 (26093753), and I doubt this color would work with your interior. (Or is that a tan interior…?) The description in that ad is pretty funny..

I was gonna let someone else reply who may know more, but 1st if your Freon was low you have a leak. Might want to put dye in it and see if you can find it then replace the parts you mentioned. Yes I would do accumulator/drier, compressor orifice tube and the condenser. I would have thought if you compressor wasn't building enough pressure why would it cycle off, but I'm not an expert so maybe something I don't know but given the fact it threw belts something ain't right with it. You'll need a vacuum pump once you replace all the parts to pump it down before you put Freon back in.

Bad pressure switch perhaps? If it's taking refrigerant and not cycling/compressing, it's possible the switch is bad and keeping the compressor from kicking on. It's cheap and easy enough to replace that it might be worth it to fire up the parts cannon before you do something more labor intensive.
