I was wondering the same thing.
Are you not worried about the heat if you put them on the firewall, or were you thinking that if mounted high enough and heat wrapped that they should be ok?
I had my long tubes ceramic coated, high heat, and have long extensions, just not sure where to put em, just yet. Im rewiring electrical this weekend

My thoughts on the improved racing one.
The original has an oring at the rear, it did fine.
Oring at the front should be fine too.

Only real worry i had was tearing the oring when installing.

I greased the fk out of it.
Then bore scoped it to confirm the oring didn't get shaved or torn.

I don't recall if i used some areoshell or transmission assembly gel to grease it.
(Probably the transmission assembly stuff since it's thicker and "melts")
