Charged it with about 2.5 dust off cans. The air is pretty cold now. Colder than I remember it with the r134a. I wish I had a thermometer to check the vent temps.

I may have to play with the amount of charge in it. Right now pressures are about 30/150psi which is low, but this refridgerant is much lower pressure than r134a which runs about 50/250.

The old orifice tube, yuck.

Hey that's what happened to my 2dr. Where the orfice tube goes it kinked so we had hell trying to get it to work ealrier. Broke 2 orfice tube but finally got it fixed and in and mostly bolted up
If it twisted at all, it's probably going to leak. I would just get a new condenser. They are only about $60 online.

A.c. systems suck. My buddy doesn't understand why I'm fighting so hard to leave the front clip together on my project lol.

On that front, I finally got the engine and transmission split, and I'm waiting for a clear day to start scrubbing them down. And recommendations for the nv4500 and np241 as far as a cleaner/mud remover so I can paint them?

The system itself is pretty simple. The pain in the ass is parts are expensive and it's hard to find leaks. You shouldn't have to take the whole front clip off to fix it, just the plastic grille on the front. That only takes 5 minutes to remove.

He got it all finished up today. He was able to get it fixed. The old orfice tube was nasty aswell. I didn't want to spend over $100 for a condenser but if this one starts acting up I'll just order one online. Where'd you get yours? Rock auto?

I was in the middle of working on it and kinked that line, so I went down to Advance and bought one. I don't even remember the brand...some chinese made one. I used their $40 off $100 online deal. Dropped the price of the condenser to $75. Not bad. I wanted to get a denso for around $65, but that would have to wait a week. I thought it was interesting that advance didn't have an off-brand liquid line. I ended up getting an acdelco line for $28.
