Im thinking being I have to pay someone to clean it, that I should just replace it........Probably save cash in the long run. I wonder if I should replace the compressor one shot being the system will have to be opened again???

Well cleaning it thru an access area is hell of a lot more cheaper then replacing it. I take you still have the same results since your Pep-boys visit Thursday. And based on your water spray results I can only assume that your compressor is weakish. Water was really cold right? Could be confirmed with gauges attached at the same time. I should add the A/c for these trucks were not rated highly to begin with.

Its actually worse, he noticed the fan clutch I installed the day before was no good. It was slowing down when I accelerated so I swapped in a new one. He added a few ounces but its actually blowing warmer. I stopped there today but he wasnt there. I purchased the heater bypass valve and installed it in the dark. Didnt help one bit.

I guess im gonna have to scrap some cash together for a new evap and compressor........

I assumed being my compressor was engaging, runs quietly and has 250+lb pressure that it was good.

I would inspect your evaporator exterior first as it probably won't cost you any thing.

Now that you have a pressure reading 250psi your compressor actually sounds pretty dam good. got any other readings?

I think the low side was 35lbs but not certain. The high side rose when accelerating.........

As far as inspecting the evaporator goes I dont think I can handle that myself. So to pay someone to remove the dash just aint worth it. I dont think there going to drill a hole and inspect with a boroscope.

I really dont know what to do, I never had problems like this in my life and when I was young I had mustangs that ran low 10's in the quarter! How can an everyday truck have issues like this!

How did you know the low side switch was no good?

When cleaning the evap, all the water comes inside correct? Or does most drain outside?
