Flashing Check Engine Light during car wash??

Never said it was "shorting out" the MAF. What water does to a MAF is cool it off, falsely replicating a lot of air passing though. The ECM corrects by adding the needed fuel to keep stoich. Since the air coming in is really at a normal flow for the RPM, the added fuel correction flloods the...

    TICKING FIXED !!!!!

Then what are you asking us for? Besides, adding a higher pressure oil pump WILL MASK low oil pressure issues and I don't care how long you worked at GM. Maybe get one of your colleagues to put out a TSB regarding the issue since you've found the remedy, finally.

Evap code that won't go away.

EVAP codes can be a whole jost of issues and only one of them is a bad gas cap (or left loose gas cap). Have your codes read and report back with the proper P044X code(s).

    5.3 no oil pressure

First of all, pull the oil pressure sending unit out and put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on it and see if it's really putting out 0 oil pressure. Run it for 5 seconds or so. If no reading on the gauge, shut it down. Secondly, how long did you drive it with bad head gaskets? Was it a...

    TICKING FIXED !!!!!

More of a "band-aid" than a "fix". Yes your ticking will quiet down on the top end with the added oil flow but that will not change the excessive bearing clearances you have in the bottom end causing the low oil pressure with the stock pump. That wear is still there and is still a major...

Flashing Check Engine Light during car wash??

It's your MAF getting wet somehow in that particular car wash. If you don't know how a MAF works or what it does this is the short course. A MAF is used to judge how much air is ingested by the engine so the ECM can calculate how much fuel is needed to keep the air/fuel ratio just about 14.7:1...

    transfer case

Have you watched this video? I don't see the clip causing the shafts to bind up. I'd guess something is not quite right inside but I also always put my T-Cases in Neutral before either inner case work or replacing the encoder motor/sensor.

    2003 Tahoe P0342

There should be 3 wires. With sensor disconnected and Key On Engine Off you should have: 12V on the RED wire. Ground on the PINK/BLACK wire. Plugged in with Key On Engine Running and back-probing the BROWN/WHITE wire, you should see a nice square wave on a lab scope. Not much you can do to...

    alternator upgrade

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohm's_law Lower voltage is not automatically a problem. In fact that's not even a bad charging voltage at all. Could be your new alternator working extra hard to charge your now semi-dead battery.

He's not far off.. If you have replaced your cats not long ago and never resolved the issue as to why your cats died in the first place, you will have the same results. Cats dying are a an effect and not a cause. Find the cause.

Have the codes read at least. Even better, get a scantool. Otherwise take it to a shp for diagnosis ($100 at my shop).

You have a misfire. Your Yukon probably has the original y-pipe and not "true duals". Might want to look underneath and check.

    Fault Code P0300

If you have a scan tool that can real live data from all of the O2's then yes. Graphing data capability is even better. Very lean mixtures will read close to 0 millivolts. Very rich mixtures will read near 1 millivolt. Watching the live data of the upstream and downstream O2's you can...

    Fault Code P0300

Whatever bank that had the soot covered plugs had that bank's upstream O2 sensor data skewed. Fuel trims are bank specific and can be adjusted individually. The right side plugs looked ok. The left side plugs were obviously overly rich and fuel fouled. My guess is that it had a bad O2...

    2005 5.3l crank squeal

Aha! You may think they are unrelated but it sounds to me like you have a vacuum leak at the rear of the intake manifold (gaskets). This makes sense since there is high vacuum at idle and low rpms since the throttle plate is closed. Open up the throttle plate and manifold vacuum decreases (no...
