    Where to buy torsion bars...

Do torsion bars never go bad? I've always had coil springs or leaf springs (back in the old days), and those did eventually need replacement due to sagging. I've just about finished rebuilding the front and rear suspension on my Escalade and the ride is still way too soft in the front...

    Premium fuel =less mpg.

Ah, I didn't even consider the E10 blends of today's gasoline. Yeah, most of us have vehicles that were designed before the blends became the norm. With today's advanced engines and controls I'm kinda interested again in the tuning aspect. Especially on something like the NNBS Escalade with...

Aftermarket diff cover clearing spoon panhard...

Nothing that I know of. I have a QA1 panhard and it makes contact with the stock cover. It looks pretty tight clearances with the cover to the ring inside so I'm not optimistic that I'll find anything to clear it.

    Premium fuel =less mpg.

Nope, you engine was designed to run 87 octane gas, the lowest octane you can run without knock will yield the best efficiency. All of my vehicles are labeled, 'premium required'. In all but my older Corvette I run mostly 89 octane because it gets the best fuel economy for my driving style...

Will it take a 75 shot?

I'm with you here. Most of my experience comes from the car side, but I saw quite a few guys using NOS or even pretty small superchargers (4.5psi) on engines (mostly stock LT1s) that wound up crying a the end of the day after an expensive lesson in running lean and detonation. Most of them...

Nothing that I've seen other than a Tech II will match what you're looking for, which is a Tech II Do you perform a lot of work on your vehicles? I do and I bought a Tech II used for about $2K a few years ago. I've used it probably 50 times working on a dozen cars over the years, it's...

    Flowmasters and Backpressure BS

Yup, and why a lot of performance autos are now offering dual mode exhaust systems from the factory. Keep the backpressure at lower RPMs and bypass the muffler at higher RPM where you need more free-breathing. I'd like to see the OP's dyno run if he has one of a large exhaust system on an...

    Where to buy torsion bars...

Thinking about doing the same when I finish rebuilding my Escalade's suspension. I think this is pretty much going to be a dealer item. Other than a used one out of a salvage yard (I feel the same as you about used here), I don't think you're going to find an aftermarket replacement.

Do I need a new Radiator?????

Yeah, I'd start there. Also look at the water pump, they have a weep hole that drips when the water pump is going bad. I've had lots of cars over my lifetime so far and seem to be replacing radiators a lot more frequently now that everyone uses plastic tanks. Seems to be at 10-12 years old...

    Spark plugs & wireset

Ran into this problem when I changed the wires on my 05, has to do with which part number coil packs you have on your truck. I bought mine at Advance Auto. When I bought them two years ago they just had the two listings and no other info. I looked them up again on their website and see they now...

    cats removed from 6.0

I've found the stock exhaust to be pretty good on these vehicles. I've changed the exhaust on several of my vehicles over the years and going to a Magnaflow on the Escalade was the only vehicle that gave me absolutely no gains. I was quite surprised considering how heavy the stock muffler is...

My brakes failed today and I see brake fluid leaking

I'm keeping a close eye on my lines as well. I don't have it bookmarked on this computer but the NHTSA has an investigation open on brake lines on GM full size trucks and SUVs. Hold on to your receipt as you may get reimbursed for your expenses later if they force a recall. They've had...

To all the Naysayers out there

You just never know with these vehicles, luck of the draw. My 05 Escalade has had the transmission replaced before 80K miles, at 90K miles I've rebuilt just about the entire suspension and will be replacing the steering box soon. All of it is shot. Starter, alternator, and battery also...

    What TPMS do I buy.

I haven't replaced one yet on the Escalade so I can't answer your question. But, for $60 I'd let them do it. Tire shops are funny when you bring in your own parts. It will probably cost you at least $60 total if you buy the part and then pay them to dismount the tire, install the sensor you...

Brake Lines Leaked and Caused Accident

I'd open up a case with the NHTSA, this problem is currently being investigated. https://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/rusted--broken-brake-lines-in-gm-pickups-demonstrate-the-twilight-zones-of-auto-safety-203750980.html?soc_src=copy

Other steps when flushing a transmission

I'm looking at a trans issue myself. A few months back I felt a surging while driving under light throttle in 4th gear with the TCC engaged. Shifting back to 3rd eliminated the surging. A few weeks ago, I lost all engagement on the transmission at about 40 mph. I coasted to the side of...

Upper Control Arm Bushing Replacement @ Home?

I picked up new upper control arm from Amazon for $55 shipped, that also included the ball joint that you may as well replace while you're doing that work. And from Amazon it was all AC Delco parts. Lower control arms were more expensive at about $130 a piece for AC Delco brand.

Stripped Out The Banjo Bolt Threads On New Calipers. Beware.

New brakes all the way around for my 05 Escalade, I decided to upgrade to the NNBS bigger brakes since I'm getting into the system anyway, I also purchased new 05 brakes for the rear of my truck as they seem to drag a bit by looking at the old rotor. Anyway, I grabbed the torque specs from the...

    Price on camber kit install?

Suspension increased comfort/handling suggestions, please help.

I'd wait and do the shocks last, then decide what you need after the rest of the suspension is rebuilt. You might decide then to go with autoride replacements. I put passive (Monroe) shocks on my Escalade thinking the OEM were shot but they didn't ride any better than the 85K mile OEM...

    2004 denali resonator
