Throttle Body Clean --> gas pedal vibration

Hate to point out the obvious, but these trucks are "drive by wire". There is no direct connection between the throttle body and the gas pedal for vibration to be transferred. Vibration in park, vibration in drive. First thought is that it sounds like an engine mounts. Do you also have a...

    F*%#N Oil Leak!!!!!!

It could be a valve cover, oil filter, or something else. The best way to figure it out is to clean it off as best you can and take it for a spin to see where it starts to build back up. An inspection mirror, or dental mirror will help. Unless it's literally dumping oil, I see no reason to...

    Rear bearings

I'm not usually a brand loyal kind of guy, but for some reason I have this thing about always buying Timken bearings. That Autozone is a distributor, only supports this sillyness. Also a fan of national seals, but I have been known to run whatever will get the vehicle back on the road the...

Fluid Change - How to keep truck level ?

Getting the correct fluid level / amount in your diffs is not an exact science and it is not absolutely necessary to have the vehicle level, within reason, to add fluid to the differentials. As long as you don't add fluid from the vent, you will not overfill it. You are more likely to under...

Rear Mounted turbo - 2014 GMC Yukon XL (5.3L)

With respect to this forum and all of the knowledgable folks here, this is the last place that I would look for info on forced induction LS series engines. Determine the power that you want to make. You may find that heads, cam, intake and exhaust will get you there, especially if you are not...

Rear Mounted turbo - 2014 GMC Yukon XL (5.3L)

A 'canned' type tune that you would get from most programmers would only be good enough to get you to a dyno/real tuner. No offense, but you clearly need to do more reading and researching. Your questions have been answered countless times before. Google is your friend.

    Battery or charging problem?

Found this: https://acdelcotechconnect.com/pdf/imtn_V12I305.pdf It explains the charging system in our trucks a little better. I had forgotten that our trucks were different than older vehicles with typical charging systems. So the 15V upper limit in the manual makes a little more sense, but...

    Battery or charging problem?

15 volts is not good. Do not necessarily trust the gauge though. Use as volt meter to verify that is what the alternator is putting out. If it is, you possibly have a bad ground or a bad alternator.

    2014 Tahoe - Which Airaid MIT ?

You already have your answer. Send the wrong one back and get the correct one. If that's too much of a headache, try to fit up the one you have and if it fits, run it.

    OEM Auto Start Not Working

The lack of a CEL does not mean that it is not storing a code. You would need a more advanced reader than what the parts stores use wont be able to see them though. A dealer or independent shop will be able to pull them. I've seen codes stored for air conditioning prevent them from starting...

    Mileage improvements need suggestions...

Where to start? Regular unleaded gas is getting harder to find. Your best bet would be a station near a lake or campground. It's hit or miss on whether you can find one though. Traction control is there to help save you from yourself, for the most part. It acts as a sort of limited slip...

    '07 GMC Yukon XL Denali Brakes - 4 wheel kits - Opinions/Experience?

For what it's worth, the rotors usually last twice as long as the pads. So you could get fresh pads, and take the rotors to a shop to get them turned. The exception is slotted and/or drilled rotors, they can not be turned. Also, the front pads tend to wear faster than the rear pads, so it is...

Reviews? Katzkin Leather/Seat Warmer/Weather Tech Mats

Never personally owned a vehicle with Katzkin leather and seat warmers, but I've done a few installs for customers. If I could fit it in the the budget, I would have no concerns with putting it in my Suburban. I cannot answer to how well it will age though. I would be careful about the shop...

Where did you take it when you took it in? Take it to a different place. If it's bad enough that you weave like a dunk going down the highway, even when you are sober, then it is bad enough that something can and should be done. A shop sending you down the road with a BS line about factory...

    Mileage improvements need suggestions...

While saying KIA specifically was a bit "tongue in cheek", I've driven a Mini Cooper in DC, Houston and LA traffic and, both the car and I, lived to tell about it, so I do not accept that a "lesser" vehicle would be "crushed". If the way that you drive would result in a smaller car getting...

    Swap out 6.0L LFA?

You may be able to go with a 6.0L short block from a similar year if your current one isn't rebuildable. You could try to check part numbers at gm parts direct to verify.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Nothing exciting. Just finally bought a spare wheel/tire. Probably just guaranteed myself to get a flat.

    Rate my deal please...

I was a fan of 20% up front with 30% on top of the factory tinted rear windows. Moving away from the Factory nav is a good idea. There were things about it that were nice features, but overall, and especially for nav, it sucked.

Anyone moved the positive fuse holder on battery to elsewhere?

Bussman makes a number of fuse blocks. If you just want to relocate just that one fuse, Bussman makes a single fuse folder that can mount to a flat surface and will hold a fuse of that capacity. You should be able to find one at most chain auto stores. I believe that the one I used on a...

Do you fully fill your tank or partial fill?

Walking a couple of miles for fuel after getting caught in traffic in freezing rain cured me of that. I try to stay above 1/4 tank now. The only time I don't fill it all the way is when I am redeeming the reward from my BP card, and am just too lazy to swipe my card for another gallon or two...
