I fixed the problem with one of the following things. The coolant was really dirty looking so I flushed the system with new, The new t-stat was opening to soon so I bought a new one boiled it in a pot to make sure it was working. Also the system had a air lock and took a full day to burp all the...
Since I am not part of a ranger forum I thought I would give this a shot here. I have a 98 for ranger 2wd 4cyl. I was on my way to Kansas a couple weeks ago and about half way there I noticed the temp gauge was reading at the C mark. Also the heater was not heating like normal. First thing that...
About a year ago I ran seafoam in the brake booster line in my Tahoe and about a week later I had to replace the injectors (not related) and had noticed when I pulled the plenum that the seafoam only cleaned the rear 4 cylinders and the front 4 were still extremely dirty. So what are you guys...
I used a fuel fitting wrench like this

Yes once you loosen both the return and main line then remove the nut holding the bracket to the block and the bracket going into the MFI unit the two lines will...
Each line has a fitting just between the fire wall and back of your engine and yes they are a ***** to get to. I think I used a crescent wrench and a 15mm wrench. They also have a bracket bolted to the back of the block, if I remember right its a 13MM nut (a gear wrench makes this easy) Good luck!
Living in Colorado my driving will range from 4000-12,000 and I never notice any difference in power. However when I drive to Nebraska and South Dakota my mileage does improve a couple mpgs.
I also had a misfire problem that I was fighting for about a year. I replaced 3 injectors before I finally got a new spider in MFI. Never had a problem since.
I was able to get mine from Autozone for $300 but it was on a company discount.
I wouldn't cut it very far under the truck or you will get some exhaust fumes while sitting at stop lights. I learned this the hard way when I had my Mustang.
Haks, I want one what will show a freeze frame reading. With the one I have now I could upgrade and get a reading from most of the sensors They just want way to much money to upgrade it.. Thanks for the input guys I will look into them.
I am wanting to by a new scan tool. I have one right now (autoxray 2000) but all it does is read codes unless I want to spend $400 for updates. I am thinking for the same money I could buy a new one with more capability. What do you guys use or recommend?
My Tahoe had 265s and I didn't like how small they look in the wheel well. I now have 285s and love them. I didn't notice any difference in mpg at all but they do rub however its not rubbing hard enough to feel while inside the truck and it is not leaving any wear marks on the tire. The taller...
I have a 98 Tahoe with push button 4x4. The indicator light showing if you are in 2 hi or 4 hi doesn't always work. Its not really a problem for me because I can feel it shift but my wife has used 4 hi or 4x4 auto a few times and forgot to disengage it because the light only works sometimes...
Hi all, I'm new to this forum and want to share my recent problem with my 98 Tahoe. I have had the Tahoe for about 3 years now and it has been an awesome truck when it runs! I had # 7 injector quit on me about this time last year so I replaced it and have had no problems until this month. I...
