Question from a prospective new owner.

I'm a free trade guy and buy American when it's the best value proposition for me. Tahoe is the best for me. I can't wait to see the 2014 but like someone wrote above, the simplicity (by today's standards) is pretty reassuring. GM has big trucks figured out. The 4Runner is a great vehicle...

Question from a prospective new owner.

I am a former owner of a 2008 Z71 for 3 years. Loved it and went 72,000 trouble-free miles. Then on a whim I stupidly traded for a Lexus GX460 and hated it - so I took my $7,000 depreciation loss 16 days later and traded for a 2011 Tahoe LTZ which I love. My experience is the 2011 is...

    Cooled Seats in LTZ

I would like to thank whoever wrote that the cooled seat feature feels like you've wet your pants because ever since reading that post, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I FEEL LIKE EVERY TIME IT'S ON. :emotions122: It's a great option and I will definitely look for it on future vehicles.

    Cooled Seats in LTZ

Not saying some cooled seats aren't fans pushing air but on my Tahoe the leather is much cooler to the touch than the air inside the vehicle. Something to do with a thermoelectric peltier effect device?

    Cooled Seats in LTZ

They are not only ventilated, they 100% have some refrigerant circulating and cooling the underside and back of the seat. GM Cooled Seats Kiss Your Swamp @ss Goodbye! (Still searching for a better tagline)

    Cooled Seats in LTZ

I'm laughing pretty hard at some of these answers. Okay, maybe I just need to drop 50-75lbs of body fat and they will seem cooler. Thanks, State County Municipal Offender Data System

    Cooled Seats in LTZ

Loving my 2 month old LTZ and have a question for other owners who have the cooled seats feature. I can hear the fan go on and it definitely gets cool but with your cooled seats, would you describe yours as: a) "Wow, it's incredible how icy-cold my seat gets!" or more of a b)...

    Buying a Tahoe PPV

When I think of a used police vehicle I think of someone sitting in it idling for 3 hours. Since the DIC on these shows HOURS, it would be very interesting to compare them to a personally driven Tahoe with 100,000 on the clock. This sounds like you're really emotionally invested in making this...

2 weeks in - initial impressions 2012 Yukon

It's a long story...I was very happy with my 08 Z71 but was adding up the miles and getting that new car bug. So I'm at the Lexus dealer helping my mother get an RX. Across the showroom floor this GX 460 seduces me. It was everything the Tahoe wasn't....smooth, refined, huge NAV screen...

2 weeks in - initial impressions 2012 Yukon

Good points. When I got my previous Tahoe I came out of a Range Rover so the shaky engine at idle was very prominent. It may be the motor mounts, more than the engine missing. I'm now on my 3rd Tahoe (2011) and it doesn't bother me but I do recall thinking about it back in the day. The 3rd...

    serpintene belt noise

When the belt off you can spin the tensioner by hand to determine if it's the culprit. I have dealt with belt squeaks on a number of models. The Gatorback belt is made with these bendable sections and doesn't squeak or whine like stock belts.

They see me rollin', they hatin', patrollin', try to catch me ridin' dirty.

    serpintene belt noise

Had the same squeak in my 08 Tahoe. Buy a Goodyear Gatorback belt to replace the big one for sure and the smaller belt if you can find it. 100% solves the problem.

    tires for 2007 suburban ltz

I own 5 SUVs/trucks so here's my $.02 Just bought a set of Nitto 420 for my son's F150 last summer and we love 'em. I've had very good luck with Bridgestones - long lasting and great traction. Agree that Michelins are expensive but they do last FOREVER. I have not gotten long life out of...

2011, <11k miles, dead in driveway

I've had two cases in my car ownership history where a battery totally failed without warning (in once case I could not even jump start the vehicle) and in both cases replacing the battery solved the problem with zero further issues. Stay positive.

going to see a Suburban ltz 2007, what should I be careful of?

I just sold a 2008 Tahoe Z71 with 68,000 miles. If you didn't see the odometer, you'd guess it had 20,000 miles max. I took incredible care of it because that's how I am. The advice above is solid but my biggest point is to try to buy directly from an owner where there's evidence they took...

    EPA Fuel Economy Estimates

According to my trusty DIC, my first week with this 2011 LTZ I'm getting 16.8 combined. Probably 50/50 highway/city. I came out of a 4 speed 2008 Z71 which was constantly in the 14s so I'm thrilled to nearly get 17mpg around town in a 5,700 lbs land yacht. There is no question that higher...

    New body style

If you've owned any SUV with a fold-flat 3rd row you know what a space-eater our 3rd rows are. That said, most fold-flat 3rd rows use the space from eliminating the solid rear axle. They need to fix the 3rd row to stay competitive so it'll be interesting. As far as the looks, I still love...

    New body style
