And for those that just want to see some data and a solid 0 to 60 time....

This run was today, 78 degrees outside and corrected Ambient Temp was around 86 degrees. I brake torqued it to 1,950 RPM and left with 6.13 PSI of boost. I do have a 2 step for this truck but haven't installed it yet. Was waiting to get the tune dialed in...

As you can see from the screen shots below, with a 100 degree IAT (no fans on my heat exchanger), I was able to run 0 to 60 MPH in exactly 3.88 seconds... This is the second time I've logged 0 to 60 MPH in less than 3.9 sec. Even in the 100+ degree weather we had last week (115 degree ambient), it still did it consistently.

This is on a VERY conservative tune, barely any timing and more than a full point rich on AFR... Things will be pretty interesting to say the least when I get my heat exchanger fans installed and my interchiller next month as well. My IAT temps at the end of my 0 to 100 run were 175 degrees!!! I won't post the 0 to 100 log as I want to keep you all guessing, but it's fast to say the least lol. I also don't have the Circle D Triple Disc converter locked up in 1st or 2nd gear which would have given me an extra 1 PSI of boost. The 1-2 shift only went up to 5,577 RPM (36 MPH), 2nd gear shifted at 6,111 RPM (69 MPH) in this run as well.

I'm revising the tune after this post to lockup the converter in 1st and 2nd gear @ WOT as well as bumping the shift MPH up a bit. I was gonna wing this motor up to 6,800 RPM but it makes so much damn torque I don't know if I need to... 1st gear @ 6,800 RPM is 47 MPH and 2nd gear @ 6,800 RPM is 80 MPH.

There is A LOT left on the table with timing and AFR being rich. I can CERTAINLY do AWD burnouts lmao.... More videos to come soon, I promise

This beast also still gets excellent fuel mileage considering... I'm seeing 8-9 MPG around town driving it hard, testing and tuning. Running really rich right now too. Cruising on the freeway with light load, I've seen 16.7-17 MPG @ 55 MPH... 13-14.5 MPG @ 80 MPH

That's now a near unbeatable street racing machine. We used to lock up our converters too (thirty years ago), but the clutch would wear out prematurely from drag racing over time. Keep at it, and thanks for sharing!

The newer converters, at least the triple disc Circle D units aren't really designed to slip. Slipping will actually wipe one out pretty quick. Lots of guys now run WOT lockup and even lockup during WOT shifts... I'm definitely down to lock under WOT but will probably break my input shaft if I attempt a WOT lockup shift. People do it, but I don't have a billet or 900m input shaft. Not worth the small gains if you ask me unless your going for every half tenth at the track. As you said, this is a street machine, nearly unbeatable lol. Gonna have lots of fun with it...

Twenty plus years ago my Buick was slightly faster on the street in street trim to 60. Nobody could beat us. We'd race Diablos, 959s, Supras, RX-7s, drag bikes, whatever, none of them could touch us until the end of the 1/4 mile and the race was long over by then. Drilling those posers in a Yukon is going to be great! I can't tell you how many times the motorcycle boys would lament being beaten by a car, now their sons are going to cry over being whupped by a truck! LOL

Just be careful, I was dumb and thought I was invincible back then but by the Grace of God I'm still alive to tell these tales.

This is like the perfect build and even better you are doing the tuning. Any reason you running it so rich and is that only at WOT or stoich? My wideband doesnt show anything other than stoich until mayne 3/4 throttle. Not sure if that my tuning or normal. Wondering how much mileage you gain once propeely leaned out.

For sure... The LS Swap guy is Lance Draeger. His company is R&D Performance Fabrication. He was a GM engineer for awhile and now works for Chrysler. He is pretty big in the LS swap world. He has worked with all the guys currently making the LSA accessory drive kits and actually knew about the bad laser cut plates that Murphy tried to salvage. He used to sell the LSSimple kit and didn't see the quality control so he helped LSX Innovations develop their kit. He's a distributor for them, Brian Tooley Racing, Eaton (hence the 200+ blowers in his garage) and a few others. Shoot me a PM and I'll give you his cell. If you are in South East Michigan and need an LS part on short notice, chances are he has it. He's surprised me a few times... I just grabbed a Lingenfelter 9.1" 10% overdrive damper ring from him last night and he's the one that I got the CX Racing ice box and 8 Rib accessory drive kit from. Smart guy, knows his shit...

The abrasive store is called Abrasive Brokers... They literally have isles and isles of all sorts of abrasives stacked up 10ft tall. I went in for some of those nice orange "Flame" brand cartidge rolls and ended up walking around and buying all sorts of crap lol. Was pretty awesome to see a place with that much inventory. Info below...

Not sure why I didn't get an alert for this message.
Unfortunately I'm quite the commute away but, I'd be willing to order stuff from him.
That abrasive store is incredible. Love it.
Thank you for the info for both, its much appreciated.

Your Buick sounds like an animal. Any pictures of it?
It sounds funny to hear someone mention a 959, but I believe it was around that time they were becoming legal on the streets in the US. I for one would have sh*t my pants if I have ever seen one on the road, by far the most advance vehicle of its time and one of my favorites.

Loving this build!!

THIS :) I love it.

I've never scanned photos of them, pictures are in albums still. Better get around to that someday! This one in particular was completely stock appearing, even ran the stock air cleaner and exhaust and radial tires. It was very mild mannered until you got it up on boost, drove it all over the country. I dialed it back to run 12.00s at the track on radials and pump gas so as not to get thrown out for not having a cage in it. I had others that ran 11s and 10s that we would also race across town from time to time.

Twice, the 959s blew their clutches or transmissions at launch. They always wanted to go from a roll but we weren't stupid. We would cruise the parking lots of clubs, usually Club Boca, and get these guys coming out. They were easy pickings, always wanting to show off their cars to the ladies sitting next to them. I guess it was fun to deflate their egos while inflating ours!

Matt's Yukon is going to do the same once she's dialed in. Matt, if he hasn't done so already, should get an AXN 9.5" semi-floating rear axle like Randy did and maybe even beef up his front one. The 6L80s are handling over 700 horsepower these days too.

There's one thing about having quick numbers at the track, but the street slows things way down. For example, my '85 Buick was dialed in to run 13.77 street or track and it would kill 12-second Mustangs when street racing. Get those boys to just chirp their tires for a moment and it was all over for them.
