To me--that makes all the headaches worth it!! HELL YEAH!

Aside from my hood debacle, everything went pretty smooth. Its quiet, has no leaks, is running right. Came together nicely.

Its def over 100 ft lbs more than the 5.3 at below 4k. The 5.3 with the ported heads and cam was comparable 5k and up.

I need to work on MPG though its real bad lol. Hoping DFCO helps the city mpg. Highway not much I can do there.

Did you pour any ATF into your new torque converter before you installed it?

It shipped with fluid in it already so I just put it in. I did have to top off my trans.

Bought an iat and breakout harness. Iat in maf gets too saturated and hot restarts are terrible because it throws fueling off so much.

Ok had a few mins and found a quick spot before I had to go home to do a test....

ZL1 stall lets you go to about 2200-2300

I was wondering about the ZL1 stall converter.. I looked at way too many this spring. Decided to go with an 1800 stall converter. Built from GM core, with a lot bigger lock up clutch lining... It's really not any "looser" than the stock (1600 rpm).. So if I ever get time, I might have it restalled to 2000 ish. I think that would be better for accel..

The zl1 is a factory twin disk stall designed to hold mega HP and only costs 400 bucks. Was an easy decision for me.
