Played with the tune some more and got DFCO to activate. I am hoping this can get me some MPG back! I am going to make it as aggressive as I can without stalling the truck.

Also measured my Corsa muffler, it's 28 inches long so I'd imagine the stainless works one will be a lot louder. I could add another resonator, but I don't want to hack up the nice Corsa piping anymore than I did already.

You know, if you ever decide you have some time to capture the process that you use to analyze the tune data and make decisions about how to proceed, and also precisely how you do it, I suspect many people here and elsewhere would find it useful. It's a steep learning curve, but one that I'm interested in climbing. There's a bottle of nice Scotch in it for you if you ever decide to do it. :)

A few years ago I did some writeups for HPTuners on how I tune the idle actually. I mainly just do this stuff for my own vehicles because I tend to obsess about things I don't understand, so that leads to days and days of trial and error lol. Right now the DFCO stuff is my new obsession lol.

I develop software for a living, and most of that is troubleshooting and debugging.

Been meaning to ask--what is DFCO?

That’s awesome man! Definitely understand where you’re coming from. I do troubleshooting and debugging as well. Software, as well as hardware, since I have to support the whole product. Can of worms !

I can relate - I used to write software for oilfield drilling operations in the 90s and then went on to do systems integration work for network operations centers. I enjoy figuring stuff out but since having kids I find screen time purely for learning rare. :)

DFCO is Deceleration Fuel Cut Off. I had to look it up and Wikipedia had it.

Funny So many of us have programming backgrounds. I did communication and database until the internet got popular. Then I built and maintained the website for NHTSA in 1996 for 10 years.

Haha yup, since my son was born the car stuff has really slowed down. But I still found a way to stuff the 6.2 in LOL. Once he's a little older, I am going to ramp everything back up again... Definitely some type of 600+ rwhp blower car next. I regret selling the G8, that would have been a perfect platform. Now the prices are too high on them to consider getting back in.

There's a lot of overlap between software and tinkering with cars. You have to have a certain way of thinking to do either of them.

Yeah DFCO can really help your city MPG. I can get it to activate when coasting from 3rd gear, but cannot get it to activate in any higher gears, so I will spend some time troubleshooting that. There aren't many settings for it, so I think the ECU may have some hidden logic built into it.
