a few general questions about my truck.

since its down i noticed that someone changed the metal fuel line to a rubber one. how much of a problem could this cause, from the receipts its been like that for over a year

okay here are 2 pics
in this first one you can see the regular rubber line coming from the hard line on the frame sticking almost straight up. You can see the other hard line there too with nothing on it. That rubber line in the right of the pic is the other fuel line.


Here is the top of the pump, right side broken, left side all rubber line, looks like its the right type of line maybe just much longer.

looks like you broke the pump pressure connection. and yeah that just piping looks wrong right there from the pic you posted. but is it a rubber hose or just abrasion padding. item #1 gm 15714582 $104 is the fuel feed line. item #2 gm 15714273 $83 is the return feeder. both available online or any local dealer if you need them. prices vary. check the condition of the line that mount to front of tank as well. while it is all down clean up the spray the frame real good too.

line number is ok, just the tip of the fuel pump is broken there, line number 2 is flexible. just looks like a longer section than line 1. line 4 is completely fine.

just ordered the fuel pump and a new filter from amazon, thanks for the link sunlit. hopefully get it on this weekend.

okay got the new fuel pump, I want to replace the retainer ring. I ran to the store and picked up the dorman lock ring and that won't do it. This looks like it will, of course they don't have any at the local stores. any input? Just ordered it from amazon hope it works

here is the one I took off of the tank. notice the one tab is just about mangled, 2 others were like that i straightened them
