Random just means it hasnt defined the cylinder its missing from yet, one of the downfalls of a v shaped engine is that 2 cylinders fire almost at the same time. So it needs to find the specific miss.

Question, looks like I'm missing one bolt on #6 coil , do you happen to know what size is that, is it m6 or m8???so it went from missing on number 5 to now a random misfire only.
huh. and it drives no better and sounds the same? I'm literally out of ideas, I got nothing.
That's for a tip. I don't know what is going on with this truck but I gives me Stabilitrack again. I tried disconnecting battery wires for some period of time. But no avail. Can't wait to trade it in, before it would kill me. Once I had Stabilitrack service on 65mph. With all my family inside. I barely managed to avoid collision. I got no idea what is wrong now. I drove it yesterday it was fine, parked. And I got this thing now.from my experience when it's missing to the point of feeling it and setting codes the misfire numbers on the scanner will be steady counting up, not just a few here and there. but a almost constant counting. if you can get it to miss while driving with the scanner activatly on it. say with a passenger watching. don't run into someone trying to drive and watch lol. I do like the blue tooth phone apps ones for things like that. Just put the phone in the holder and go for a drive till it starts. then pull over and watch what's going on.
an intake leak will make the long term and short term o2 sensor trim crazy. good is around 5% plus or minus. if you're in the maxed out 15-20% you could definitely have some leak. if it's bad enough leak, it can definitely cause a lean missfire.
I've done the #8 plugs and wires on mine.. it's annoying but it's not that difficult with the right tools. laying across the engine is the worst part. I luckily have a top side creeper at work I can use. I honestly think your mechanic was just a hot head and likes easy jobs haha it definitely takes patiences. Just need the right combination of spark plug socket, small extension and flex head ratchet. the hybrid inverter is in the way thou compared to a normal truck. so I found it helpful to have the front plugs and wires off, so I could put one arm in thru the front and one down from the top to guide things.
there's some good youtube videos about getting to that back plug for normal trucks, but I don't know about the one where they pull the inner fender cover out. the hybrid stuff might make that harder.
sorry I didn't know the size of the bolt off the top of my head, I'd guess it's an m6 thou, cause m8 is a pretty big bolt, like the ones that hold the exhaust manifold on or a m8.
That ground wire was installed by me. Battery is 10 months old. Duralast bought in local AutoZone. I will try to throw some jump cables or some jump starter and try to boost that battery. If something like this happens just overnight it should be just one thing. But it happened on Christmas, c'mon. Frankly speaking I'm really happy that there is no street cleaning today I can keep it on a street till Friday, the worst thing is that I can go to dealerships anymore till I fix my Cadillac.I'm sure it feels like a waste of money, but if the battery is say 3 years old or so, especially up in the cold where you are. it might be worth swinging by a Walmart and picking up a new 12v battery for it. clean the terminals really well and see how it does.
it might make no difference, it might solve everything. hard to say but 9v sounds like an issue. did you ever find that ground wire on the front of the driver's side cylinder head?
