I stopped by the body shop today and of course it's turned into a cluster f#ck. Custom work always does. They were installing the bumper and of course the front valance that's an integral part of it had to be removed because it made the bumper 2" too tall so when it's laid out no bueno. So I need to figure out what to do with the opening at the bottom, plus the HD bumpers have a center hole above that one that needs to be dealt with. I'll figure it out. And then there's a major problem trying to match the clear since the original clear is dull because they sanded it wrong. My guy matched the fenders, hood and grill but from there back it doesn't match. I can't leave it like that so he's going to see what it will take to match the rest of the truck. It might have to all be wet sanded and buffed. More money. Oh well. I didn't take pictures because I was pretty upset and I just want to see it done. I'll see it again tomorrow after work and hopefully have a solution for the clear plus it will be assembled. My buddy isn't a custom shop or fabricator so I have to keep that in mind.

Probably. It would be nice to find something that's RGB that I could control with the others. If not, just white LED would be OK. It would just have to be slightly bigger than the opening and I'd mount it flush to the back of the opening.

My brother did that on his 2012 Silvy... looked good.

Bad news/ good news today. The paint can't be wet sanded and buffed because it's shit. Shit paint job the PO had done and the clear is delaminating from the base. Good news is now I have a reason to have it repainted. It never did look right; the clear was dull and the paint lacked depth. Also good is the front third of the truck is repainted already. We discussed a wrap but since the clear is delaminating the wrap will probably look like crap sooner or later. So paint it is, just have to get him to work it into his schedule. While he's painting it, I'll take the front bumper home and fab whatever needs to be done to it. It's becoming as much of a money pit as the Harley it replaced. Toys always cost.
