Bad news/ good news today. The paint can't be wet sanded and buffed because it's shit. Shit paint job the PO had done and the clear is delaminating from the base. Good news is now I have a reason to have it repainted. It never did look right; the clear was dull and the paint lacked depth. Also good is the front third of the truck is repainted already. We discussed a wrap but since the clear is delaminating the wrap will probably look like crap sooner or later. So paint it is, just have to get him to work it into his schedule. While he's painting it, I'll take the front bumper home and fab whatever needs to be done to it. It's becoming as much of a money pit as the Harley it replaced. Toys always cost.

The hood and front bumper were just repainted by him. So it would be the same color it is. But the funny thing is...I had trouble with The Beast today with the e-fan harness again so I needed to go get The Machine so I can drive it to work for a few days and it seems he had his best guy try wet sanding and buffing in a few areas to see if it would work. And it looks like it will, and the shit about the clear delaminating was a bad diagnosis. I just think he didn't want to chance it so he made that shit up. I don't know. He said today that if they go through the clear when wet sanding (they have no idea how thick it is) then the plan is to treat that one area as a repaint, match, and clear. Hopefully it will all be ok. He can't get to it for a couple more weeks though but that's fine.

The Beast was down for a day (Efan wiring harness melted again) so I drove the CC to work and it’s throwing a code for an O2 sensor issue and the damn TPMS came back alive so now there’s a warning light. Dammit. And on the way home yesterday I found out to NOT let it go past 1/8 tank before looking for a gas station. Ran out 2 blocks away from the one I was headed to. I put 2 gallons in and no bueno. I thought I had burned the pump up. 2 more gallons and I was good to go.

The outside door handles are painted over smooth black which isn't good, plus they're in need of repainting or at least clear coat. So today I ordered new OEM paint-to-match ones even though they're about 2 1/2 times what the aftermarket ones go for. I just don't want one breaking after I pay to have them painted. $170 for 4 damn handles.
