sounds like your shock sensor is way to sensitive. Take a peek under your dash. You should see the Shock sensor with a white knob on it. Turn it to lower the sensitivity. Those rapid horns you are hearing are Prewarns for the alarm. Eventually it will switch to the alarm

They didn't test it out before sending you away? Those problems don't sound like an adjustment issue, more like something wasn't hooked up correctly.

Its almost impossible to hook it up wrong. the shock sensor Hooks into the Inclination sensor in which hooks into the bcm. The shock sensor has a fitted connector so you cant hook it up wrong. As far as the wheel sensor, its 2 or 3 wires that has terminals on it that go into empty cavities on a bcm connector. If it hooked wrong it wouldnt of worked and the techwouldnt be able to program it in the tech2 scan tool

As far as the Antenna for the 2way its mounted on the LR inner glass just above the wheel jack trim.

Mmm, okay that's what I was also thinking ... I'll go turn the sensors down.
I dunno, maybe it also has to do with the fact that I park on a slight incline ... though it would be pretty useless if one can't park on a hill with these things on.

But the thing that confuses me is that a couple of times I got the rapid horn thingie but the alarm never went off afterwards.

Thats not uncommon on an alarm that does that. Its just a warning that something is close to triggering the alarm. Could be a bird on the roof or a motorcycle with a really loud exhaust. That part could be sensitivity, but the alarm going off when you remote start it seems like its not programmed correctly. Either way, I am hoping you get it worked out so that I don't have to go through all the same mistakes!

Well as you know it was pouring rain last night ... I can't imagine that there would even be a setting sensitive enough for that to trigger it.

Don't know about the factory alarm, but on the viper alarm in my pick up, yes, it can be set sensitive enough that rain will set it off. I don't know where you park in DC or what the situation is, but a trash truck driving by can set off the warning chirps. My uncles Harley sets off the viper in my pick-up.

yes it can. one drop alone no, but when you got thousands hitting the same time, it can make enough impact to set off the warning. As far as the parking on a incline. When you arm the system, it remembers the angle your on. It will sound when the angle is changed from where you armed it.

Okay guys ... first of all thank you for all the help.

It turns out that it is in fact a sensitivity level issue.
The dealer had set it to max so relatively small things like a rainstorm and the remote start was setting it off.
I just went and set it to minimum, turned on the remote start, and the alarm didn't go off.

So basically that is it ... in the next few days I'll keep increasing the level until I find where it sets off with the remote start and set it to slightly less sensitive than that.

It's a little volume type knob on the side of the module under the steering column assembly.

Thanks again and hopefully this little episode will help another confused soul down the road. :waytogo:

Awesome! Now I need to consider the advanced remote. Still not sure about the mounting location of the antenna.... just doesn't seem like a clean install with it hanging in the window.

Btw ... if anyone knows where women's sensitivity knob is please share.

I tested the nipples and they don't work ... in fact it seemed to make things worse.

Maybe I'll shlep her to the dealer to have a looksie at her connections.
