I just got an email from GMC regarding a software update, does anyone know what this update is for?
Is it worth time for a service appointment. I have a 2022 GMC Yukon SLT

xxxxxx, your GMC Yukon is due for a software update that must be performed at a dealership. This update will provide software improvements and optimize your vehicle for future over-the-air updates. Once completed, your vehicle will have up-to-date technology, including the latest infotainment features, performance enhancements and more.

Contact your preferred GMC dealership tod‍ay to schedule this complimentary software update. They will provide you with the timing and details for your appointment.
Our highest priority is ensuring that you get the best driving experience possible.

It's most likey;

Recall - #N242447990 FAILED BRAKE FLUID LEAK DETECTION

Basically the computer might not turn on the dash warning message about low brake fluid , so a software update fixes it. A little googling around with that recall number will tell you more than you ever wanted to know.

I'm curious though - I had that update done already at the dealer on 9/19, and then I got this same email on 10/4 - maybe just a delay in sending out the email? (Not something new?)

Just had the dealer complete the update. My radio/entertainment center was malfunctioning occasionally. Called support and they informed me of the recall. It took about an hour at the dealer.

Does the update appear to have resolved your issues?

What’s the campaign ref #?

N2424355631

Got the same letter just now in the mail. Called the local dealer and they said they have to reprogram the CAN gateway due to it potentially draining the battery during OTA updates.
