The little guy was refered to as CHIMP CHIMP. LOL The Mach 5 was the Sh*t back in the day. If I could put them jumpers and saw blades on my Tahoe, my morning commute would be a breeze. Oh, there are several of us "OLD FOLKS" on here. :hmm:

I'm doing S today on the Tahoe.. needed a break. I did order up a set of Irwin nut extractors to add to my tool collection. going to tackle the exhaust next week.

So now I'm dealing with rounded nuts. I have a few options. 1) I can send this pan back and just order a stock one with a drain. No moving exhaust needed. 2) buy a deep socket extractor and pray. 3) cut the nuts off with a dremel, order new flange nuts, install pan.

I'm kinda leaning to option 1.

what a giant pain in the ass!
Option 2. I've had success with them.

Well back at it again.

my buddy came over and got my fuel filter off. the fuel came out black, and stained our skin, even after washing.
put a new trans pan on. not the oversized one I bought, but a stock one with a drain. I really didn't want to open a can of worms with the exhaust.. Plus my extractor set I bought, I accidently sent it to me father in laws house. so there was no way I was going to have it in time..

pulled off the intake for the knock sensor. the one in the rear had standing water, and a torn boot going down in to the valley. When i pulled the valley cover off, more sludge... What a freaken surprise. cleaned all that crap out. replaced the oil pressure sensor. going to button it up tomorrow. RTV'd the new knock sensor harness to the valley cover. no more water is getting in there!

my buddy who did my filter is a mechanic, he drove the car and said it's actually driving cherry. He said it sounda/feels great! so that's pretty good news.

Buttoned it up today. Every fluid is done, but the PS. seafoamed the intake, giant clouds came out. CEL went off on it's own for the knock sensor. Feels great, pulls hard. I think this car came back to life! Going to keep up changing the oil filters/oil, and monitor consumption. Other than that, I think it's good to go! Thanks everyone for your help.
