Well I have to make my garage a drive-through, and then build a small shop in my back yard, and then I’ll be ok. But yes, I’m working on the old one car 1950’s garage right now. I feel like I’m building a tiny house though....gotta make good use of every bit of space especially since I’ll be basically losing the back wall as it will be an overhead door.

I hear ya. I'd better quit complaining, I've got it good, relatively speaking. I can always park one outside when I need the room, but I don't like to. The Hoe sat out all summer while I worked on the deck wood, and she's lovin' the shelter of the garage.

And I finally decided to replace the standard NNBS shifter with the new one that @Adverturedenali92 suggested (maple or amber or something..?) Thanks Chase!! - anyway, color is pretty good. Not exact, but a lot nicer than black. And I bent the shifter arm enough so it’s closer to stock. Much better!

Now, I’ll have to do it all over again, when my replacement shifter boot arrives Wednesday.. [emoji3525]
I left the original in for now because mine’s pretty trashed and suspect it would have ended up in two pieces anyway, had I put it on the new shifter...

Before, with the stock NNBS shifter:

In drive:

After I bent the arm in the vice, I needed to clean up the shaft a bit since it was a little torn up / rough from the vice jaws:

Now the new park position:

And drive:

Hard to show, but a significant difference after bending the arm, compared with the other NNBS shifter:

Then I started pulling off the shrink tubing I did last time, and desoldered the wires. These are really short, so didn’t want to cut any off if I didn’t have to:

Soldered to the original plug:

And 3 layers of shrink tubing, because I love that shit.. :

So much nicer. So you bent the shifter up so it sits higher? I need a vise. I bet if I tried to bend it while it's attached I'd def break something.
