    Front door Speakers

First off I have search and I couldn't find an answer. 1. Dealing with the front door speakers, there seems to be two speaker mounts in the door. Is this an option from one stereo to another? As in cheaper systems get smaller speakers and the better systems get bigger speakers? 2. I ask this...

Rattle at High RPM's - Anyone know?

When you say better quality gas do you mean octane or gas station? As in shell over a bottom of the barrel no name gas station? Also, I have cleaned the maf multiple times... However I will clean it again just to make sure. When I say multiple I mean 3-4 times in the last 2 months...

Rattle at High RPM's - Anyone know?

When I stomp on the throttle and rev it up around 4-5k rpms there is a noticeable rattle from the engine. Enough to notice above the cool-air-intake and above my magnaflow exhaust. Could this be the valves out of adjustment? Anyone had this happen to them before? Thanks for your input. 2002...

An emergency fix for a fuel pump

I have a different theory. I think that it is the screen around the pump getting dirty and not letting fuel through. You beat the gas tank and it shakes the sediment/dirt off the screen just long enough to let the fuel pump prime the fuel rail and start the truck. Mine did this when it...

Engine Stumbles only in gear and only at idle

    1. I verified the gap on the plugs with my feeler gauges, a couple were off a little so they had to be adjusted (one was too wide and one too narrow). My feeler gauges are incredibly smooth and couldn't scrape off the coating IMO. - I don't use the 'gauge wheel' type. 2. The MAF is plugged in...

Engine Stumbles only in gear and only at idle

My engine when I first start it up idles fine but when I put it into gear it stumbles every 5 seconds. I do not have any codes. So I don't think it is an intake gasket. FYI I just changed sparkplugs (gapped to .040") to AC Delco Iridium and I have a K&N CAI. Any ideas? Yes this just started...

    help with 2001 tahoe

I don't know if you've figured this out yet or not, but I spoke with the onstar people today and they said that my 2002 Tahoe cannot be converted from analog to digital. So now I don't have and cannot get Onstar service.

School me on Performance/Cold Air Intake Systems

It would seem to me that this scoop would show itself to be useful during 1. High speed >65 driving for gas mileage increase. ~1mpg increase 2. Wide open throttle at higher speeds. Plus this seems like a pretty good warranty.

Uneven Brake wear on rotor, pulls to the right.

Ok I got new brake pads, DuraLast Gold CMax ceramics and got to the shop. When I went to take the calipers and wheels off I realized that the last guy had installed the shims/brake hardware in on the upper and lower ends of each caliper to hold the brake pad in place. They are nice and designed...

Uneven Brake wear on rotor, pulls to the right.

Anyone ever notice that your brake rotor surface isn't totally shinny? Yes a very general question but here's what is going on. 1. When I apply brakes at any pressure it pulls to the right. 2. There is a rust ring (much the same as if you were to leave your truck sitting for about a...

    Zert fitting install on ISS

Thumper, Where did you intall your zerk fitting? Is it closer to the retainer bolt or the firewall. I see that it 'neck downs' in two places. I'm just wondering what side of the smaller part you installed it on. Thanks. Bruce
