2006 Yukon Fuel Filter
I don't understand the lack of an external fuel filter. My 05 doesn't have one either. The fuel station pumps are supposed to have filters on them but dirt does get in your tank. I've dropped a couple of tanks in various vehicles and never came across one that was clean inside.- Wake

AC Delco oil filter number ????
I've always used the PF61 where I had physical room to fit it. The drainback valve shouldn't matter as the filter sits upside down anyway and it's going to empty out like it can on an engine with a sideways orientation. I've never had a problem using the 61s on any of my vehicles. My Vette...- Wake

Look on ebay for a 4L60E deep trans pan. I'd be surprised if you had the shallow pan design. They're cheap, I bought a chrome pan for $20 shipped. It wasn't great quality as everything is cheap Chinese made nowadays but did the job. You can find them all the way to $200+ if you get an...- Wake

Don't ever do a flush. You risk ruining your transmission if done by a tech who is sloppy or doesn't properly perform the service. I have a friend who is a GM mechanic and he also recommends against a flush. It will stir up the sediment that has naturally settled in the transmission from...- Wake

Best tire size for mileage?
I don't know that I would move down to a 245. My Trailblazer used 245/65/17s and I have a set of winter tires left over that I contemplated getting a set of winter wheels to use on the Escalade. The Escalade weighs half as much again as my Trailblazer did, ~6000 versus ~4000 lbs. I'm... -

You should see a better mpg improvement with larger tires. Larger tires are going to turn slower than stock size and is like changing the gearing to a higher numerical number and a slower turning engine as a result. My Escalade had 285s on it when I bought it and seemed to get about 1mpg... -
The Denali Dilemma
That is correct. If there is no switch for 4hi/lo, awd, 2hi, and neutral then you have full time AWD. I don't think any of the last gen Denalis had 4WD, the Escalades didn't either.- Wake

Reprogram not normal functions?
Not that I can remember. I've got a TechII and have used it to turn on options on some vehicles like adding factory nav to a vehicle that it didn't come with, or turning on the A/C afterblow funciton, or even changing the tire size for the speedo and tranny shifting. But it doesn't give you... -
Best Tire size for 05 2WD
My 05 Escalade had 285/70/17s on it when I purchased it, 265s are the stock size. The 285s looks too full in the wheel well for my taste, not to mention the speedo being off by about 5mph at 70. I don't think I got any pics of it before the new tires but I'll take a look around. -
Improving Ride Performance
It depends on whether you can do it yourself or have to pay someone to do it. It's labor intensive so it costs a lot to have it done at a shop, a shop will run you at least a couple to a few thousand dollars. I figure two days of your time if you're a DIY'er, that's what my Trailblazer took...- Wake

I'd start with rebuilding the suspension. You'd be amazed a the improvement you'll get when you replace the suspension components after 80K or 100K miles. I had an 02 Trailblazer which I rebuilt last year and it rode like a new vehicle afterward. I plan to do this on my Escalade this fall...- Wake

OBD2 wont read my NNBS
Do you have a 2006 model? In 2006 GM switched to the CAN bus from the Class II data bus. My TechII won't ready my friends 06 Denali or my 07 Saturn unless I buy a CAN adapter for it. So if you have an 06 and your scanner isn't CAN capable you won't get anything.- Wake

O2 censors
I agree. Unless the rear after-cat sensors are throwing codes I wouldn't change them out. The front pre-cat sensors are what affect your fuel economy and driveability. The other suggestion I have is if the plugs and wires haven't been changed I'd do those first if you don't have codes for...- Wake
