You’ll get a code unless you use something to fool the system into thinking the cats are still working, if you hollow them out. Plus the noise and smell like mentioned.

Ooooh. That's a different story. You probably mentioned it and I don't remember reading it.
Anyway, yeah, cats are really expensive. So I get just wanting to gut or delete them. These days, when I'm under mine, I'm looking at ways to reimplement cats because of the smell. I have a handle on the sound, but it took 40" of muffler to do it.

It can be a rabbit hole unless you just replace the 4 main culprits and hope it’s not charcoal pellets in the lines.

you got that tech2 dont ya? you can manually work the functions of the solenoids to test em out all pro like. all depends on the code what sensor your testing.

I get the Vent code and tighten gas cap message all the time. We have had a couple of nice days, but it is still winter here... So, I am ignoring until warm weather decides to stay a while. I just got my Tech 2 a couple of weeks ago. I am excited to have the chance to use it to see if I fix the issue without a lot of parts darts action.

I do. I wish the Tech 2 came with a booklet. Tech 2 for dummies lol.
It’s just like a woman. You gotta spend some time playing with it and sooner or later you’ll kinda understand it and what it’s capable of.
